Texts like these fuel my passion.
Lynette was reluctant to start exercise physiology at first.
Like many people with MS, she valued her independence fiercely.
She wanted me to show her a couple of exercises she could do by herself when convenient. But progressive resistance training requires a program that evolves as you do. And the exercises that create real transformation are skills that require practice under supervision.
She'd "tried gym before and it wasn't for her."
But this wasn't going to be a generic gym routine. We only focused on exercises that she could feel improving her daily function.
She would tell me "this is different, it's one on one, it's slow and controlled, and it's actually helping."
Muscles she thought were 'dead' were starting to wake up.
And slowly, something shifted. She started asking "what else can I do?" instead of accepting limitations.
