Collagen through life’s stages – because when life demands more, your body needs support. 💪✨

Collagen is the most abundant protein in your body, forming the foundation for skin, bones, cartilage, and connective tissue. But did you know collagen production naturally declines with age? Factors like menopause, intense athletic training, physical injury, and even lifestyle choices such as smoking can also accelerate this breakdown.

Whether you’re an athlete pushing limits, navigating hormonal changes, or recovering from injury, healthy collagen levels can make the difference for stronger bones, healthier joints, and improved tissue resilience when you need it most.

Inflammation and Anxiety

Research shows that chronic inflammation is closely linked with mood disorders such as anxiety and depression. Inflammation affects the brain’s ability to regulate neurotransmitters, which can contribute to fatigue, low mood, poor focus, and difficulty coping with stress.

One of the most effective ways to reduce inflammation is through food. Incorporating anti-inflammatory foods daily can support both brain and body health, helping to stabilise mood and improve resilience.

Anti-inflammatory foods to include regularly:
🥦 Dark green vegetables (broccoli, kale, spinach)
🍓 Brightly coloured berries (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries)
🥑 Avocado
🫒 Extra virgin olive oil
🐟 Oily fish (salmon, sardines, mackerel)
🌰 Walnuts and almonds
🍠 Sweet potato and other root vegetables
🍊 Citrus fruits (oranges, mandarins, grapefruit)
🍵 Green tea

Pairing these foods with regular movement, quality sleep, and stress management practices can help lower inflammation, reduce anxiety, and promote clearer, calmer thinking.

Anxiety - When to Seek Help

Anxiety is more than just a fleeting feeling of nervousness. When worry, panic, or overwhelm become persistent and start interfering with daily life, it’s a sign to seek support. Mood health plays a major role in your overall wellbeing, and untreated anxiety can affect your sleep, energy, digestion, and ability to cope with everyday stress.

There are many possible contributors to anxiety, such as ongoing stress, past experiences, nutritional deficiencies, or hormonal changes.

Cindi can help you explore these underlying factors, while also supporting your mental and emotional resilience. Seeking help is not a weakness, it is a proactive step toward recovery and a healthier, more balanced life.

What Triggers Hot Flushes?

Hot flushes can sometimes feel unpredictable, but there are often clear triggers that make them worse. Common culprits include stress, emotional upsets, fatigue, caffeine, alcohol, spicy foods, hot drinks, or simply being in a warm environment. Physical exertion can also intensify symptoms.

Not every woman will react to the same triggers, which is why keeping a simple diary can be so helpful.

Recording the time of day, food or drinks consumed, stress levels, and what was happening when a hot flush occurs can highlight patterns. Once identified, avoiding or minimising personal triggers is a valuable way to reduce frequency and severity.

What Are Hot Flushes?

Hot flushes are one of the most common symptoms of menopause, with 75–85% of women experiencing them at some stage. They occur when the body’s temperature regulation becomes imbalanced due to hormonal shifts, particularly the drop in oestrogen.

A hot flush often starts suddenly with an intense feeling of heat, usually beginning in the face or chest and then spreading throughout the body. Skin may appear flushed, sweating can occur, and the heart may beat faster. Some women even feel chills and clammy skin afterwards, as the body tries to re-balance its temperature.

Hot flushes vary in length, they may last only seconds, or continue for up to half an hour. On average, they run for around four minutes before disappearing as quickly as they appeared.

Have you been experiencing hot flushes?

Every woman’s experience is unique, and with the right support, hot flushes don’t have to control your day.

Natural Support for Headache Relief

Alongside lifestyle changes, research highlights several nutrients and botanicals that provide targeted relief from headaches and migraines:

• Magnesium – regulates vascular tone and nerve activity
• Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) – supports healthy mitochondrial energy production
• Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) – reduces inflammation and supports nerve health
• Curcumin, Boswellia, Passionflower – calm neuroinflammation and ease pain sensitivity

When combined with lifestyle foundations, such as hydration, balanced nutrition, quality sleep, and stress reduction, these natural supports can reduce headache severity and frequency, while also addressing the root drivers behind them.

If you experience ongoing headaches or migraines, you don’t need to manage them alone.

Book an appointment with Cindi to get to the root cause and receive tailored support for long-term relief.
