Itās ditch and switch time, where we ditch the toxins and synthetic fragrances that are disrupting our thyroid, hormones, nervous and respiratory system, and switch to a safer non-toxic option. Today, letās talk bug spray.
Did you know DEET, an ingredient found in most bug sprays, can interfere with the activity of enzymes that are vital for the nervous system to function properly? š±
Hereās my question for youā¦is your bug spray safe for everyone in your family? Your kids, babies, even your dogs? Are you holding your breath while you spray yourself down with bug sprays that even smell like they are toxic? Thereās a better and safer way, my friends.
Swap out the traditional bug sprays for a simple and easy homemade spray that contains only doTERRA essential oils and fractionated coconut oil.
š§Non-Toxic Homemade Bug Spray:
In a 30mL spray bottle (you can purchase these from doterra.com) add
5-10 drops Lavender
5-10 drops Geranium
5-10 drops Peppermint
5-10 drops Cedarwood
5-10 drops Lemongrass
Top with fractionated coconut oil (FCO).
Donāt like DIYs? Try doTERRAās TerraShield Spray. I like to add 10 drops Geranium to my TerraShield spray to give it an extra boost and keep the ticks at bay. You donāt have to do this, but it works well for me.
Hereās the thing, Mother Nature knows best; hence, the power of plants. Plants have been protecting themselves from insects and environmental threats for a very long time.
Plus, whatever you apply to the skin is absorbed into your bloodstream. You cannot trick the body. It knows whether what you are applying came from nature or a lab.
Making simple swaps like this can change your life and save you money. What to learn more quick and easy summer recipes?
