We’re like a TED for mums. The overall premise is about building a supportive and collaborative community for creative mothers to:

CONNECT – with other like-minded creative mamas
SHARE – their creative story, expertise or passion
COLLABORATE – form new creative partnerships
FLOURISH – get back in touch with their core creative identity to feel a sense of purpose and fulfilment. Passions and exper

tise range from film making, writing, painting, jewellery design, sculpture, screen writing, photography, food blogging and recipe invention, music, interior design, architecture, illustration, crafters, creative entrepreneurship – to name a few! We offer a range of diverse and inspiring events:

Creative Mama Evening Talks – Think monthly TED talks for creative mamas, where a different mama shares her story, passion and creative process. Morning Tea Masterclasses – for more entrepreneurial creative mamas, a series of 6 x one hour intensive masterclasses held over the course of the year, with absolute experts in their field. You get access to thought leaders in an intimate setting. Themes have included Digital, Health & Wealth, In the Spotlight. Expert Panels – 3-5 masterminds in one area share their knowledge and expertise. Direct access to thought leaders to ask your pressing questions. Creative Family workshops – held during the school holidays and facilitated by professional creative mamas. These workshops are not a kids’ drop off activity, but designed for both parents and children to create their own works and develop deeper bonding through the creative process. We also have an online membership, where you can access our live events plus other great content, allowing you and other creative mamas to be inspired and feel connected from anywhere around the globe. ABOUT ROWENA ROBINSON
Born in Los Angeles, California, and raised in poverty by a determined single mother, Rowena Robinson’s life has been shaped by resilience, creativity, and a deep commitment to community. A graduate of Southern Illinois University, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Education with a focus on Human Movement and Community Health. In 1972, Rowena made history as the first Black female gymnast to compete at national level in the United States, becoming a member of a national gold-medal winning team.

After moving to Australia, Rowena dedicated 36 years to teaching PDHPE in Sydney secondary schools, where she inspired generations of young people and coached numerous prize-winning teams in gymnastics, volleyball, athletics, and basketball. Beyond the classroom, she contributed to innovative programs exploring Aboriginal spirituality for Year 9 students at a leading Catholic girls’ school.

Rowena’s creative life is equally rich. She is a studio artist whose paintings have been exhibited and sold across Sydney, an actress who has appeared in stage productions in Sydney, Canberra, and Adelaide, and a writer and writing tutor. She also holds a Diploma of Herbal Medicine and founded the Well Body Herbal Medicine Clinic on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

Today, Rowena finds deep fulfilment as a spiritual pastor and mentor, helping others discover their worth, creativity, and joy.

ABOUT MAGGIE HAMILTON
Writer, social researcher and former publisher Maggie Hamilton, writes books and for magazines; gives frequent talks and lectures; is a media commentator and keen observer of social trends.

Passionate about living a creative life and mentoring other creatives, Maggie has spent most of her life in book publishing, with a stint at the ABC. She also set up and ran Allen & Unwin’s mind, body, spirit imprint, Inspired Living. Her own books, which have been published in over a dozen countries worldwide, seek to elevate, and inspire us to new ways of seeing and being in the world.

Really enjoyed this year’s smaller, shorter based on the theme, Cortex, and focused on a gathering of minds—natural and otherwise—exploring the human brain’s power to dream, adapt, and connect in an age of artificial intelligence, examining the implications of outsourcing cognitive functions.

Didn’t take photos of all the presenters, but really enjoyed the music of an engaging talk with Paul Litnaitzky, leading several world first studies in clinical psychedelic research and ending with an inspiring talk by seven times women’s world surfing champion.

ABOUT ELLA DREYFUS
Ella is an academic, artist and filmmaker with exhibitions held in Australia, Canada, France and Germany. She has a 40-year career as a senior lecturer in photomedia and is Head of Public Programs at the National Art School in Sydney.

Ella won the inaugural Olive Cotton Award for Photographic Portraiture with her portrait The Lads: N**s and Dax and has been a finalist in numerous photography awards, solo and group exhibitions and was represented by Stills Gallery, Sydney’s leading contemporary photography gallery.

Ella’s award-winning documentary Dreyfus Drei, a film about her Jewish family history, identity and artmaking, has had over 60 screenings around the world.

She is currently working on a 21-year-long series of black and white portraits of boys becoming men, which will have its fourth iteration called Under Thirty-Three.

ABOUT DIANE ARMSTRONG
Diane is a child Holocaust survivor who was born in Poland and arrived in Australia in 1948.

She is an award-winning journalist. Over 3000 of her articles have been published in major newspapers and magazines in Australia and overseas. Her awards include the George Munster Award for Independent Journalism and the Pluma de Plata for the best article written about Mexico worldwide.

She is a bestselling author. Her family memoir, MOSAIC, was shortlisted for the National Biography Award, and her account of her voyage to Australia on a postwar hell ship, The Voyage of their Life, was short-listed in the NSW Premier’s Non-Fiction Prize. Her first novel, Winter Journey, was short-listed in the Commonwealth Writers’ Literary Award.

Her next novel, Nocturne, won the Women Writers’ Fiction Award and was nominated in Poland as the best novel written about the Polish Uprising. This was followed by Empire Day which is set in Sydney in 1949, The Collaborator which is set in Israel and Hungary, Dancing with the Enemy which is set in the island of Jersey, and The Wild Date Palm, a true spy story set in Ottoman Palestine during World War I.

She is currently working on a novel whose working title is The Nuremberg Quest.

She's an extraordinary woman.

ABOUT Jean Kittson A.M.

Jean is an author, public speaker, actor and comedian. Jean came to national attention on ABC TV’s, 'The Big Gig', followed by Let the Blood Run Free, Kittson Fahey, Good News Week, the Glasshouse, Flat Chat, The Einstein Factor, and many more.

She recently appeared with Denise Scott and Matt Okine in both series of the remake of Mother and Son. She was a long-lasting participant in Celebrity Apprentice. She appeared alongside Krew Boylan, Rose Byrne and Celeste Barber in the recent Australian film Seriously Red. Now on Netflix.

She made a guest appearance on Wellmania with Celeste Barber. She has appeared in many theatre productions including David Williamson’s Siren, Calendar Girls, Mum’s The Word.

She was a long-time regular panellist on ABC 702 drive program, Thank God It’s Friday (TGIF). She has conversed twice with Richard Fidler on Conversations, Radio National. She was invited to speak about menopause at the National Press Club. She has been a regular columnist with the New Weekly, the Sunday Telegraph, the Sydney Morning Herald, and many more.

Jean is currently a columnist with the Australian Carers Magazine. She is the author of three books, including the best sellers:

‘You’re still hot to me, the joys of menopause’ and ‘We need to talk about mum and dad, a practical guide to parenting our ageing parents.’ She is the new host of the podcast ‘Life’s Booming’.

She was the founding chair of the Australian Gynaecological Cancer Foundation (AGCF). She is currently the Patron of Palliative Care Nurses Australia, and an Ambassador for the Raise Foundation (youth mentoring), the Macular Disease Foundation, the Australian Gynaecological Cancer Foundation and Taldumande Youth Services.

In 2023 she was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM).
