Nia with Time2Restore

Nia with Time2Restore Nia classes in Gungahlin, ACT Hi! Janene here. I first stepped on a Nia dance floor in late 2017. Nia seemed like fun and an outlet to my inner loungeroom dancer.

I was hooked from the first class by the welcoming community and the joy. Looking for something new to “get me moving”, I set about my research (a girl’s gotta do her research 🙂 ). Since then, I’ve completed my White Belt training, 5 Stages, 52 Moves and most recently Moving to Heal. The more I learn and experience Nia, the more it continues to amaze me with the depth of mind, body and spirit it brings. I invite you to experience the fun of a Nia class. Everyone is welcome to come along and find their own level of joy in movement.

With Nia, you don't need fancy gear or dance skills. You just need a body - and a willingness to move it with kindness. Come as you are. Leave feeling more like yourself. 👣😀

In class we play with hand and finger techniques to add expression to our movements while conditioning these vital parts of our bodies. Check out Nia - Anniann - Ann Christiansen explanation of the Nia moves Catching flies and Hand pumps. Remember to watch the video linked to play with them.

✨Art of Sensation Know-How✨
Hand Pumps and Catching Flies – Differences and Benefits

Use our Nia hand techniques everyday, also out of class and stay healthy in your hands! In the Nia classes we love to play with out hand techniques for aliveness and musical details.

Hand pumps and Catching Flies – the „end“ of these two movements looks the same (a fist) but what ist the difference?

✨Hand pumps: Squeeze and release the thumb on the other fingers – training grip strength, release tension in the neck

✨Catching Flies: We have a loose wrist in this hand technique and train agility and reaction
