Maidens of Gaia

Maidens of Gaia Empowering and nurturing circle offerings for women and girls. Includes mother and daughter circles, and women's sacred circle

Maidens of Gaia is a community of women and their daughters. Heart-full women supporting to each other within the ancient container of sacred circle. A nurturing and positive space to experience connection, belonging and deep nourishment. Current programs:
The Budding Heroine’s circle is a group for mothers and daughters from 8 - 10 years. Heroine's will offer mothers and their daughters an inspiring and nourishing opportunity to explore real life heroines through conscious storytelling of herstory, craft and guided visualisations. The Blossoming Maidens circle is for Mothers and daughters (11-13 years). A coming of age circle with the intention to prepare girls for adolescence. Exploring relevant themes to cultivate understanding and acceptance of self. Red Tent Women's circle - Sacred Feminine Meditations is a new series of circles for 2021. A circle for women to drop into sacred space for themselves, to reflect on being woman and replenish the spirit. About the Facilitator

Are you also launching young people into the world? It’s sometimes harder than we expect. Often these young adults are still finding themselves and developing life skills facing adult hurdles for the first time. Parents and their village are a crucial part of the success of this transition stage, still very much needed, just in a new way, to help them fly.

I have been running mother and daughter circles for several years now and the benefit to the girls has been tangible and real. Having just parented through this bumpy stage myself I have been inspired to adapt the concept of female role models as Heroines to guide discussion and reflection so as to cultivate a deep sense of self and confidence moving forward in a supported way.

Do any of the following call to you?
🌿meaningful time with your older daughter
🌿being a part of a safe space and supportive community
🌿 a way to reconnect with your young person
🌿empowered confident daughters

Yes? Then this is your invitation to join us for a series of tailored workshops where we share our lived experience and wisdom. We draw on strengths and stories of real women - HERstory- to inspire and express ideas. Open to mothers with their daughters (neurodiverse and LGBTQI+ friendly space)

one of the benefits is the spark of deeper conversations about important developmental social and emotional skills. another way to bring this into your home is with movies. Yep, watching certain movies and discussing how a character, demonstrates empathy, perseverance, grit or resilience, standing up for others and more. check out this article for more on this and some movies to look out for.

Movies are not just entertainment. When characters connect at deep psychological levels, movies can quite literally shape young people’s lives!

Whenever I talk to other mothers we often have in common the desire for things to be easier, better or different for our daughters. We don’t want them to have the same worries or insecurities.
But the hard part of that…for it to be different we have to do different.

The sharing of HER-story became a passion after first reading biographies of early Australian women. The book “Great Australian Women” was first recommended by my mentor, Thea Gaia about 25 years ago. Whilst this told stories of mostly white Australian women it was the spark of an ongoing passion for women’s perspectives and stories.
Some of which are forgotten or hidden or simply erased.
It’s important to look gor what lies underneath.
So i challenge those “status quo” remarks , was it really so?
Look for the contribution of those hidden women, acknowledge their efforts so they are not forgotten 💛
