The new moon doesn’t ask you to shine.
It asks you to listen.

Before the goals.
Before the declarations.
Before the doing.

This is the phase of quiet planting 🌱

In yoga, this is a return to Pratyahara — turning inward, withdrawing from noise, choosing subtlety over force.

Try this New Moon practice:

🧘🏽‍♀️ Slow, grounding movement (child’s pose, seated folds, gentle twists)

🌬️ Longer exhales to calm the nervous system

🕯️ Practice in low light or with eyes closed

Affirmation:
I trust the unseen work. I honor beginnings that grow quietly.

The new moon reminds us:

“Om Shanti Shanti Shanti Om” is a sacred mantra often chanted at the beginning or end of a yoga or meditation practice. Each part carries deep spiritual meaning:

Om (ॐ)

Considered the primordial sound of the universe—the vibration from which all life emerges.

Symbolises unity, wholeness, and connection between body, mind, and spirit.

Chanting Om helps calm the nervous system and centre awareness.

Shanti (शान्ति) — repeated three times

“Shanti” means peace.
It is traditionally repeated three times to invoke peace in three dimensions:

Inner peace – within oneself (body, mind, emotions).

Peace in the environment – harmony with others and the natural world.

Universal or divine peace – beyond our control, in the cosmos or spiritual realm.

Closing Om

Ending again with Om seals the prayer or intention, returning us to unity and stillness.

Overall significance in yoga

Chanting Om Shanti Shanti Shanti Om is an invocation of complete peace—within, around, and beyond us.
In yoga, it reminds practitioners that the true aim of the practice is not just physical movement, but deep harmony, compassion, and spiritual balance.
