Will you be supporting a person with disability to explore employment in 2026? Learn how to turn their passions into possibilities!

For many families of young people with disability, the pathway to employment can feel confusing or overwhelming. Traditional services may lead people toward “busy work” or training courses that lack meaningful outcomes. Families often worry whether their family members will find a valued role that reflects their real interests, skills, and contributions.

⭐ Microenterprise offers an alternative. ⭐

It’s a way to start small, test ideas, and create authentic work that grows from a person’s passions and strengths.

It can be a pathway to belonging, contribution, and even future open employment.

This brilliant series of workshops by Helen Neale was recorded in October and November 2025. Now you can enjoy them for free and on demand for a limited time.

✨ New event ✨
🏠 My Home, My Way

Home is a vital part of our lives.

It provides us with security, privacy, comfort, and control. It also reflects our identity and adulthood, giving us a deep sense of who we are and how we connect to and belong in our neighbourhood.

Yet for many people, particularly those with intellectual disability, home is designed by others.

Individuals are left with little control over the decisions that most people take for granted. Some families wonder if it’s even possible for their family members to live in their own homes.

In this practical and interactive workshop, we will explore individualised and innovative ways that people with disability have used to create their own homes while getting the support they need.

This workshop will be relevant to people with developmental disability, their families and supporters as they think through how they might move into and thrive in a home they can call their own.

If you have previously attended this workshop, we hope you’ll register for this one, as we’re adding some brand-new content based on topics people have told us they want to hear more about.

⏰ From 9:30 am until 5:00 pm
📍 Belconnen, ACT

Have you been wondering what you can do to ensure your family member with disability is not disadvantaged by marginalisation, discrimination, and stigma, and instead has the opportunity to thrive and enjoy all that life has to offer?

Many families and professionals have found a working knowledge of Social Role Valorisation (SRV) to be very helpful.

In its simplest form, SRV shows us how to support people who are marginalised by society in developing valued roles across every part of their lives. The more valued roles a person occupies, the more likely they are to gain access to the good life.

If this sounds intriguing, we think you'll enjoy two of our upcoming events!

✨Workshop 1:
Building better lives: An introduction to Social Role Valorisation, presented by Darcy Elks

In this brand-new, two-hour online session, you’ll be introduced to Social Role Valorisation (SRV), a social theory developed by Dr Wolf Wolfensberger to guide efforts that support marginalised people to access the good things of life.

🗓️ Wednesday, 28 January 2026
⏰ From 11:00 am until 1:00 pm AEDT
🖥️ Online via Zoom
🎟️ This is a free workshop which will be recorded and shared with everyone who registers.
