Seed collecting……I’ve been threatening for weeks, but today is the time to say goodbye to this seasons zinnias, I am so grateful for the joy they have given! They have consistently been alive with pollinators, and still this morning, bees and butterflies are making the most of what pollen and nectar is left. Their babies will be sown in a few short months ready to give to us all again 🌀

I recently came across a Sanskrit name for flowers, ‘sumana’, which translates literally to ‘good mind’. Enough said 🌸✨

Autumn afternoons - my fave time of year! 🍂. We can really feel the change in the season now in SE QLD.

This blue banded bee is enjoying the last of the zinnias, but I’ll have to let them go soon to make way for stocks, snapdragons, and everything else I’ve got in seed trays!

Another cycle begins 🌀

Last week of summer ☀️☀️☀️

Grateful for everything this land has given us this season, now we’re giving back with compost, green manure crops and sowing the seeds for next seasons’ offerings ✨

I’m still nowhere near ready to say goodbye to the zinnias!

Life ✨

Meet our newest family member, Lisa!

We have been battling nut grass in this area for years and have tried all the non-chemical options we could think of aside from an exorcism. We discovered pigs love to eat the grass as well as the underground ‘nut’ rhizome that keeps it coming back for more season after season.

So Lisa has joined the family as a full time regenerative gardener, not only helping with the nut grass but also restoring soil health, reducing waste and contributing significantly to our circular system…….plus providing plenty of joy!

We have had her a week and although she has escaped twice and we had to beef up the fencing, she is so fun and loves a tummy rub. I am looking forward to plenty of organic growing with her 🌱 ✨🐖

Some moments from my pop-up produce stall over the weekend 🌱

I adore the slow ritualistic harvest as the light fades on Friday evening and before everyone wakes in the quiet still of Saturday morning.

I love the considered process of displaying the produce beautifully and bunching the flowers.

But even more enjoyable has been meeting all the wonderful people that have stopped! Each and every visitor has been kind, interesting and interested in what we do here. So thank you if that was you! This is the kind of community I’ve been dreaming of building with and you have inspired me to keep going (*growing 🌱)!

I hope this is just the beginning ✨

Field notes from the first week of 2026 🌱

1. Zinnia eye view
2. Morning ritual - roma tomatoes are the only variety thriving right now, I’m harvesting and freezing daily to make passata ***when I have time***
3. Eggplant #1 - healthiest plants I’ve ever grown, planted with capsicum and next to zinnias, this part of the garden feels alive
4. 💚 💪🏼 spinach and rainbow chard from spring still going strong
5. Summer = squash ☀️- first round are coming to an end, second round about to get going.
6. Summer nights
7. Two sisters (missing the corn)
8. Moon gazing 🌖

Early morning sounds of the farm, imperfect blooms due to 🦗🐛⛈️, and some dodgy videography skills…..but perfect enough for me ✨
