Conversations with my daughter today who is feeling slightly overwhelmed, managing all the things teenage life brings, made me think of a post I did a while back using this photo of her while we were on a hike.
I thought Iβd repost as a little reminder to anyone whose nervous system is feeling a little dysregulated. If youβre feeling stressed or overwhelmed π«€β¦ pauseβ¦ take a moment for yourself, step back from what feels messy, close your eyes, place one hand over your heart, the other on your stomach & take a slow deep intentional breath in to the count of four, hold for four seconds and slowly release to the count of four, hold for four seconds & repeat as many times as you need to help calm the mind, relax the body & bring the parasympathetic nervous system back to a calmer more regulated state. Fill your lungs, cells & body with oxygen, imagine it pushing away & clearing the stuff that feels heavy for you on each exhale! π§π»
