Meet Sarah Lovett
If you’ve ever felt like nothing quite fits when it comes to supporting a child with PDA… you’re not alone.
And that’s exactly why we’re so pleased to be bringing Sarah Lovett to our community.
Sarah is the Founder and Principal Social Worker at Our PDA Kids, an Australian service dedicated to supporting children with PDA and their families. She’s an accredited social worker with a Masters in Social Work — but what truly sets her apart is the combination of professional expertise and lived experience.
Sarah is an autistic woman with a PDA profile, and a parent to autistic PDA children herself. She understands, first-hand, what it’s like to navigate school systems, advocate for your child, and explain PDA to people who don’t quite “get it.”
Her work is grounded in trauma-informed practice and focused on something many families are searching for:
👉 support that actually feels relevant
👉 strategies that respect the child
👉 and a shift from “managing behaviour” to understanding what’s underneath it
Through her work, Sarah helps families move from simply coping… to genuinely feeling understood and supported.
Why this workshop is different
Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) is often misunderstood — even within professional settings.
It’s not about defiance.
It’s not about poor behaviour.
It’s a nervous system response driven by anxiety, where everyday demands can feel overwhelming and unsafe.
This workshop will give you:
✔ a clearer understanding of PDA
✔ practical, neuroaffirming strategies you can actually use
✔ language and confidence to advocate for your child
✔ reassurance that you’re not alone in this
Whether you’re a parent, educator or clinician, this is an opportunity to learn from someone who truly understands the complexity of PDA — both professionally and personally.
If you’ve been curious about PDA, or feel like you’re missing a piece of the puzzle… this is the place to start.
