The Furry Friends Express Easter Holiday Program is almost full! We had so much fun last school holidays and invite all eager bunnies to join us at Parkview Equestrian Centre for a joyful, connection-building morning with therapy horses, dogs and guinea pigs.

🐾🐕🐶 Therapy Dogs "hard at work" here at The Speech Express 🚂💬

Lincoln has a very important job as a Therapy Dog here at The Speech Express.

Sometimes, it's a more "paws on" job of greeting, welcoming and making everyone feel comfortable in their sessions. Sometimes, it's just time for an afternoon siesta on a book.... whilst still helping little people regulate during sessions too! 💜💙

🚂💬✨New Medicare Speech Pathology Rebate – From 1 March 2026 ✨

Thanks to the advocacy work of Speech Pathology Australia, an important Medicare change has come into effect from 1 March 2026 — and it's fantastic news for many of our families!

This update will have a significant positive impact on private-paying clients with more straightforward therapy needs.

What’s Changing?
From 1 March 2026, Medicare’s MBS M10 Allied Health Services (for complex neurodevelopmental conditions and eligible disabilities) will expand to include:

*Stuttering

*Speech sound disorders (e.g., lisp, articulation difficulties, phonological disorders)

*Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS)

*Cleft lip and/or palate

This applies to children and young people under 25 years of age.

🚂🐾✨ MEET RUTH ✨🐾🚂

A big warm welcome to one of our lovely new Speech Pathologists Ruth! 💜

With a Master in Speech and Language Therapy and a Bachelor of Communication, it’s clear that language and communication have always been a passion of Ruth’s.

Her particular area of interest is working on alternative ways of communicating (AAC) and she enjoys exploring creative, individualised approaches to therapy, incorporating clients’ interests into sessions and working alongside animals in a positive environment.

Working as an allied health assistant with school-aged children throughout her studies taught her that all children move at different paces, some preferring calm, steady and structured interactions, with others requiring fast-paced, adaptable sessions to maintain engagement.

In her spare time, she loves being out in her garden tending to her veggies, fruit orchard and pet chickens. She also enjoys video games, scuba diving, yoga, and dabbling in pottery. 🧘🧘‍♀️🌿🐥🍅🍄 Welcome Ruth!
