So many people asked why I wanted to go to India.
Well, this is it.

Iโ€™ve been following the ancient teachings of Ayurveda for years, and I wanted to experience it where it began โ€” to see how itโ€™s lived and practised in daily life.

Iโ€™m the kind of person who needs to believe in something wholeheartedly and feel the benefits personally before I share it with others. I didnโ€™t want to speak about a holistic health system that is thousands of years old and grounded in another culture if Iโ€™d never experienced it for myself.

So before launching my online courses teaching nurses how to bring the wisdom of Ayurveda into their lives, I felt it was important to go to the source.

I can now confidently say yes โ€” Iโ€™ve been to India, where Ayurveda has been passed down through generations for thousands of years. And yes โ€” I truly believe that living an Ayurvedic lifestyle can greatly influence our health and our lives.

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ India - Day 10: Jaipur

Final day on tour today. Woke up to a thunderstorm and rain ๐ŸŒง๏ธ Didnโ€™t dampen the spirits of the resident musician at from playing us a tune to start our day though! ๐ŸŽถ

It absolutely poured as we arrived at Amer Fort (thank you for buying me an umbrella!! โ˜‚๏ธ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป). The fort was very grandiose and cool, and there were elephants taking tourists for rides ๐Ÿ˜

Little bit of shopping in the Indian Art House, then the Bapu Bazaar, followed by a random lunch of carrot halwa (like a sweet pudding - more known as a dessert but GF options were a bit slim! ๐Ÿฅ•) and chai ๐Ÿซ–

More shopping at a book store and ๐ŸŒฟ

Reminiscing over fun times at our last dinner together as a group ๐Ÿฅฐ and looking forward to coming home tomorrow! โœˆ๏ธ ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ India - Day 9: Agra to Jaipur

Taj Mahal this morning was incredible! ๐Ÿ•Œ It was quite majestic to watch the fog roll in off the river and shroud it while the sun rose. The precision of its symmetry and the thought and attention to detail that has been applied by the architects so many years ago is really quite remarkable.

Bus trip to Jaipur - the pink city ๐Ÿฉท Little bit of shopping ๐Ÿ›๏ธ (definitely need to buy another suitcase now! ๐Ÿงณ) then on to our hotel which is like an oasis ๐ŸŒด

Tuk-tuk ride to for dinner and every time we hit a bump in the road the driver would say โ€˜No problem!โ€™ ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ While the tuk-tuks have zero suspension leaving you to feel every bump, they are so much fun and one of my highlights of India! ๐Ÿคฉ

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ India - Day 8: Rishikesh to Agra

8 hour bus trip to Agra today and the weather is starting to warm up! ๐ŸŒž

Agra is famously known for the Taj Mahal (which we will see tomorrow), but it also should be recognised for the incredibly quaint and welcoming accommodation that we are staying in . So many interesting colours and eclectic pieces of art and decor that we didnโ€™t know where to look next?! Oh, and letโ€™s not forget the fact that you can see the Taj Mahal from the rooftop terrace ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ•Œ

A quick walk before dinner led us down the main street and into a beautiful tea shop ๐Ÿซ– The shopkeeper welcomed us with freshly made marsala chai and I stocked up on a few teas ๐Ÿ›๏ธ

We were treated to a delicious home cooked meal by the owners of the Coral House Homestay for โ‚น700 (about AUD$11.30) ๐Ÿ› And an extra treat of an evening meditation session with .rose ๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ India - Day 7: Rishikesh

Early start to drive up the mountain to Kunjapuri Devi Temple to watch the sun come up over the Himalayas ๐ŸŒ… Dodged a landslide on the way up and a few pesky monkeys (one of the ladies on the tour nearly lost her phone to a monkey!)๐Ÿ’

Tuk-tuk ride down the road to cross the Ganges to wander the streets and see the ashram that the Beatles stayed at - it was closed! ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿป

Visited another ashram, found a bookstore that was full of books on Ayurveda, yoga, and spiritual practices (may or may not have bought plenty to read on the plane home ๐Ÿคญ)๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

Evening yoga class with the lovely overlooking the Ganges followed by a delicious Ayurvedic meal ๐Ÿ˜‹

Rishikesh you have been fab! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿฉต

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ India - Day 6: Rishikesh - The home of yoga! ๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

Surprisingly warmer weather today as we settle into the foot of the Himalayas ๐Ÿ”๏ธ Our hotel is right on the banks of the Ganges and the views are spectacular! ๐Ÿคฉ I can hear the river flowing from my room (even with the windows and doors closed!).

Shopping on the cards today ๐Ÿ›๏ธ Came across the most exciting sound healing instrument shop! ๐ŸŽถ Singing bowls, gongs, chimes - you name it! My happy place ๐Ÿฅฐ May have purchased a couple of new instruments to add to my sound baths, as well as a few other things ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ended the day with an abhyanga (Ayurvedic massage), shirodhara (Ayurvedic stress-relieving practice that involves pouring warm oil on to your forehead and is VERY soothing) and sunset over the Ganges ๐ŸŒ…

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ India - Day 5: Haridwar - Temple Day

Temple day today ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป The most fragrant rose garlands given as gifts to the deities ๐ŸŒน (cost us 100 rupees each which is the equivalent of about AUD$1.65)

Kids flying paper kites in the evening ๐Ÿช

Finally an enlightening Ayurvedic cooking class with ๐Ÿ˜‹ and a lesson on how to make perfect chapati ๐Ÿซ“๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป

Early morning chai ๐Ÿซ– Breakfast of champions ๐Ÿฅž Mini workshop on mala beads and japa meditation ๐Ÿ“ฟ

On to the master creators at for a jyotish astrology reading (which was eerily accurate)โœจ a little bit of retail therapy ๐Ÿ›๏ธ and a home cooked lunch ๐Ÿ› ๐ŸคŒ๐Ÿป

Am loving exploring the chaotic streets! There is so much going on and my mind boggles with how ambulances reach their patients through the traffic, let alone get their patients in to a hospital ๐Ÿฅ

Go-kart style tuk-tuk ride to the Ganges River ๐Ÿ You kind of feel like you might die but at the same time they are super fun - despite the lack of suspension! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Aarti fire ceremony on the Ganges River ๐Ÿ”ฅ And a quick dip in the sacred holy water to wash my sins away ๐Ÿ’ฆ

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ India - Day 3: Delhi to Hardiwar

Road trip to Hardiwar after an enormous breakfast in Delhi. Pit stop at a service station for lunch where we got the sweetest chai and soup ๐Ÿ˜‹ There was also an abundance of flowering kale and a mini shop on the inside with stoneware (as you do ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ).

Greeted at Johari House by a small herd of cows ๐Ÿ„ and the wonderful Anu who bent over backwards to accommodate all of our needs with Ayurvedic love ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿป๐ŸŒฟ

Henna artistry, Ayurvedic banquet, and a group yoga nidra session ๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

Hot shower and into bed with 5 blankets, 2 hot water bottles, 1 heater and a happy heart ๐Ÿฉท

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ India - Day 1: New Delhi

So much fun, so much chaos, and so much kindness ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

We visited the Kali temple, Lotus temple and Swaminarayan Akshardham temples. All completely different yet all incredibly beautiful in their own ways.

The traffic in Delhi is chaotic but somehow seems to work?!

The food has been delicious and the company wonderful ๐Ÿฅฐ

Iโ€™m off to India in just over a week. Iโ€™ve got a brand new passport, some Indian rupees, and my trusty old suitcase thatโ€™s been around the world several times ๐ŸŒ

It will be my first time there. Iโ€™m a little bit nervous but mainly very excited! ๐Ÿคฉ

Iโ€™m going on a guided tour with .rose, , and fifteen other women to visit the home of Ayurveda, yoga, and the Taj Mahal ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

We are visiting Delhi, Rishikesh, Hardiwar, Agra and Jaipur.

Have you ever been to India before? If so, where did you go and what did you enjoy the most? Feel free to share your travel tips ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿงก

Another year done and dusted, just like that ๐Ÿซฐ๐Ÿป Isnโ€™t it incredible to look back and see how much has changed over the course of a year?!

Iโ€™ve had quite a few milestone moments in 2025 โฌ‡๏ธ

๐ŸŒŸ Booked a holiday to India in 2026 ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ
๐ŸŒŸ Completed my certification as a Level 2 Sound Bath Practitioner with ๐ŸŽถ
๐ŸŒŸ Registered my business Simply Sattva ๐ŸŒป
๐ŸŒŸ Performed my first professional sound bath ๐ŸŽต
๐ŸŒŸ Surrendered my nursing registration ๐Ÿฉบ
๐ŸŒŸ Built a website ๐Ÿ’ป
๐ŸŒŸ Began creating an online course which is now about 85% complete (something Iโ€™d never dreamed of doing!)
๐ŸŒŸ Signed up to do my yoga teacher training in 2026 with and
๐ŸŒŸ Sold my house ๐Ÿก

Somewhere in there also Iโ€™ve managed to listen to 11 audiobooks ๐Ÿ“š, maintain a relationship with my partner (although only just ๐Ÿค๐Ÿป - moving house is a great relationship tester ๐Ÿฅด๐Ÿซ ๐Ÿ˜‚), and watch my daughter grow up ๐Ÿฅฐ

According to numerology and astrology, 2025 is a year of closure and the end of a cycle ๐Ÿ’ซ

2026 is a year of new beginnings and freedom ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

I canโ€™t wait to see what next year brings! ๐Ÿคฉ
