5 Things I love about being a Chiro 🧡 :

1. The People- we get to meet the most interesting and amazing people who are curious about optimising their health and wellbeing. What an honour!

2. Making small, positive changes. From little things, big things grow! But persisting and continually making small changes, can result in a huge impact in someone’s life which I think is pretty cool.

3. The benefits of long term care: as chiropractors work on an adaptive system, we sometimes see our patients over years and lifetimes. There are huge benefits to having a health practitioner you see on a regular basis, such as knowing your medical history and being able to recognise changes/patterns to your health sooner.

4. Providing low risk pain relief: chiropractic care is proven to be effective and low risk option for musculoskeletal pain relief. It’s a great feeling being able to provide this to people in acute pain!

5. The big wins. When you get to watch someone stand up off the table when they couldn’t even bend forward and be able to stand up tall. Or have a headache completely disappear after an adjustment. There’s some magic in that.

How lucky are we that we get to do something we love every day?

Chronic Pain & the 4 P’s 🧠👇

Chronic pain isn’t just physical — it can affect sleep, mood, confidence, and daily life.

A helpful framework we use is the 4 P’s of Chronic Pain:

✅ Pain – understanding what’s happening
✅ Purpose – staying connected to what matters
✅ Pacing – balancing activity without flare-ups
✅ Positivity – building resilience (not “good vibes only”)

Communication is a huge part of recovery 🗣️
Being heard, understood, and educated reduces fear and helps build a clear plan.

That’s also why manual therapy matters 🙌
Not just for movement, but because it gives us time to talk, counsel, and work through your pain together.

If you know me, you would know that I is an absolute audiobook addict! We are currently working on sourcing some of our favourite recommendation books for the clinic 📕 My favourite way of reading in these books are audiobook form (which makes sharing a little bit harder), but I thought I would share screenshots of my favourite books over the last year in order of my most recommended as well!

🎧 I’ve listen to them (mostly) free on a mix of Spotify, BorrowBox, and Libby.

I hope this helpful to everyone I have recommended a book to (but forgotten the name of it!) or finds interest in these subjects too.

Fun fact about our chiros!
Sarah was a swim teacher and coach for toddlers all the way up to adults for a decade before becoming a chiro! ⭐️

It was a huge part of her life and still a passion.
Her client management still has a strong emphasis on balance, education, building strength & endurance and the importance of consistency.

Not to mention the many more water options there are for exercises. 🏊‍♀️ 💦

Next time you are in be sure to question her about anything regarding swimming! 🥽
