Ph@tt - 3 stages. All 3 Stages are super important and each stage is structured with a clear purpose - Steps 1&2 are more straight forward sugar balance and weight loss stages. However, some people don't fully appreciate the importance of Step 3 maintenance ๐คจ... Here's some info๐ง:
Step 3 is outside of the main 30 day programme and is a maintenance phase to pause our loss and add in more calories and some other foods. Ph@tt recommend doing Step 3 by following the Step 3 Meal Plan for a minimum of 21 days if not doing another cycle and we can reduce it to 14 days which is the recommended if wanting to go another round.
Ph@tt recommend a few nutritional supplements for Step 3 which will continue the nutritional support and also โlock inโ the results already achieved.๐
There is a hormone called Leptin which is released from fat cells. Leptin signals to the brain, in particular to an area called the hypothalamus. It is often referred to as the "satiety hormone" or the "starvation hormone." ... Its main role is to regulate fat storage. These are the hormones that we are trying to re-educate at Step 3 and train them to regulate at a lower weight - it's like the weight thermostat of our body.
For example, when we are at a certain weight for a long period of time, our bodies are adjusted to that. So if our start weight is 80kgs, for example, and then we drop to 70kgs, the Leptin hormone starts to send warning signals to our brain to start reinstating the weight. This is why the maintenance stage is a crucial step that re-educates our thermostat to function at a lower weight and function at the new set point. We teach it that there is no need for alarm because after the initial 30/40 days of steps 1 & 2, we nourish it and reassure it that we are not going into starvation mode. ๐
With other 'diets' or plans that don't promote maintenance, lifestyle changes or provide further mentoring, the weight is very often re-gained. This is what we mean when we say that Ph@tt teaches us and gives us the tools going forward to maintain our weight losses.
So for all of us (and I was initially one ๐ฎ) that questions whether we need to do Step 3 - the answer is YES - absolutely we do because this is where the magic is going to happen. Stick to the full programme. Trust in the full programme.๐ก It is like no other out there. ๐๐ฅฆ๐ฅฌ๐ฅ
