In Memories on a Plate 4, the singing turns into a full-on family jam off key, full-hearted, and unforgettable. Because nothing brings us together like food, laughter, and a song everyone pretends to know!

Memories on a Plate by the Dementia Alliance of Palmerston

The Dementia Alliance of Palmerston’s monthly Memories on a Plate morning tea has quickly become a cherished community tradition. Now four successful gatherings in, the event continues to grow in warmth, attendance, and impact.

Designed to spark conversation, connection, and understanding, each morning tea invites residents to come together over shared stories and delicious homemade treats. Through friendly chat and gentle learning, Memories on a Plate builds awareness about dementia and encourages a more informed, compassionate, and dementia-inclusive Palmerston.

With each session, the community becomes stronger and every cup of tea helps break down stigma one sip at a time.

We are here until 11:30. Gentle bachata session will start soon! Come join us..

📣 The new Aged Care Act 2024 starts today – 1 November 2025

This major reform puts the rights, dignity, and wellbeing of older people at the centre of Australia’s aged care system.

The new Act sets stronger quality standards, clearer provider responsibilities, and better access to information and support.

At Darwin Community Legal Service, we welcome these changes. Our team remains committed to supporting older Territorians, their families, and aged care providers to understand and work within the new framework.

If you have questions about how the new Act affects you or someone you support, please reach out — we’re here to help.

"You matter too."

Caring for others starts with caring for yourself. This October, we challenge you to choose ONE self-care habit and commit to it. Even 5 minutes counts.

What's one small thing you could do for yourself each day this month?

Drop your self-care goal in the comments - let's hold each other accountable!

Remember: You can't pour from an empty cup. Your wellbeing isn't selfish - it's essential.
