Where does Baby Massage originate from?
Baby massage is not a new trend — it is an ancient practice that has been lovingly passed down through generations across many cultures around the world.
For thousands of years, traditional indigenous families all over the world have practiced baby massage in differing forms. Some of the regions most commonly recognised for these practices include India (Ayurveda), China, other parts of Asia and regions of Africa.
These indigenous communities have long used touch to nurture, protect and connect with their babies. Massage was woven into daily care — supporting growth, calming the nervous system, strengthening bonds, and promoting overall wellbeing.
These practices were guided by deep cultural knowledge, intuition, and respect for the baby as a whole being — body, mind and spirit.

To honour traditional peoples shared wisdom and knowledge by practicing with respect, kindness, gentleness and connection as they themselves have done across time. - reminding us that nurturing touch has always been, and will always be, a powerful way to care for our babies 🤍.
