Gratitude Corner at Lida Care

Yesterday at our table, we created a little space called the Gratitude Corner and honestly, it became the heart of the day.

People of all ages stopped by to write what they’re grateful for, and the responses were beautiful, funny, honest, and so heartfelt. From “family” and “good health” to “cats,” “friends,” “kind staff,” and even “none of your business”, every single wooden token held a story, a smile, or a moment of reflection.

Seeing everyone pause, think, and share something meaningful reminded me why we do what we do at Lida Care. Gratitude connects us. It lifts us. It reminds us that even in the busiest seasons, there is always something worth appreciating. ❤️

A big heartfelt thank you to Mission Australia and International Day of People with Disability - Australia for hosting and creating such a warm, welcoming community space. Your efforts bring people together in the most meaningful way, and we were grateful to be part of it.

Thank you to everyone who added their little piece of joy to our Gratitude Corner. You made the day truly special.

Our latest Quarterly Report shows sustained improvement in key life areas for participants, including choice and control, community participation, daily living and health and wellbeing.

Data shows participation in community and social activities for participants aged 15 years and older increased from 34% at baseline to 41%.

In the report you can read about Elise, a 35 year old participant from Queensland, who achieved her goal of completing a Certificate III in hospitality. Elise says, ’Don’t let disability stop you from doing what you want. Someone out there can help.’

With NDIS funding she was able to get tailored support, including a hospitality-trained support worker to support her in the kitchen.

By learning the signs and reporting suspicious activity, providers and workers help protect participants’ rights, lift service quality, and safeguard their professional credibility.

As we mark the 25th International Fraud Awareness Week, it’s a good time to boost your knowledge.

Use the Digital Compliance Register to check if the NDIS Commission has taken compliance action against providers or workers you employ or work with. You can also find resources on our website to strengthen your fraud awareness and help prevent future harm to participants.
