There are very uncertain times ahead for people with disability and NDIA service providers.

This is a repost from explaining proposed changes and the impact this will have.

I encourage you to reach out to your MP and further. We are all advocating hard right now.

🏆 We are so delighted to introduce the S18 NSW 11–13 Years Girls 50m Freestyle AND 50m Backstroke PSSA State Record Holder.

Alicia has been dedicated to her swimming over the past few years, going from strength to strength and now to Stare record holder. We are all incredibly proud!

It is a joy to watch Alicia’s smash her goals. With determination, strength and a smile on her face.

Thanks to Alicia’s family for letting us share this wonderful achievement.

Today is World Down Syndrome Day.

This year the focus is for a call to action - for all governments to improve their support systems to ensure that people with disabilities are included in the community and that their human rights are respected.

We are so excited to share our new service - Infant Screening sessions.

Jamie and I are passionate about supporting families and babies with their development.
We have created a nurturing space to support families with reassurance and guidance in how they can support their babies development of movement, physical skills, feeding and connection and communication.

We can’t wait to see you.

Happy world Physiotherapy Day 2024!

The Physiotherapy profession is wide and varied. This year we focus on Low back pain (LBP). Did you know that LBP is the most common musculoskeletal condition, affecting 16% of the population. (APA Physiotherapy White paper, 2022).

If you experience back pain, check in with your local physiotherapist for support.

Merry Christmas from our family to yours.

What a great this year has been supporting the Made to Move Kids families. Goals were smashed, laughs were had and lots of hard work was done by the kiddos and their families.

We will be closed from Friday 22nd to enjoy the festive season with our family. We look forward to what 2024 brings.

Happy World Physiotherapy Day 2023!

This year is focusing on arthritis. Arthritis is acute or chronic joint inflammation. Symptoms can include joint pain, swelling and/or stiffness which may impact function.

Arthritis is often associated with our ageing population but it can also affect children. This is typically called Juvenile idiopathic arthritis.

It’s important to continue to be active. Your Physiotherapist can set up a safe and effective exercise program to help improve children’s physical function, support management of pain and reduce future musculoskeletal issues.

Nature play is one of my favourite activities!

It is perfect for little ones to:

🌳 Develop their gross motor skills
🌳Challenge balance and reactions
🌳 Provide opportunities to strengthen
coordination and motor planning skills
🌳 Experience multiple sensory inputs
🌳 Extended their endurance and
exploration

It’s one of my favourites for those skills but mostly it’s such a fun way to incorporate therapy into play. Here in Newcastle we have loads of natural wonders to explore. I am privileged to work alongside a great bunch of educators and support Mr D learn and play.
