NEW - AEI App 🧏‍♀️ 🏥 👮 🔥
For generations, Deaf and hard of hearing Australians have faced barriers in emergency situations - often forced to rely on others or navigate inaccessible systems. Since Triple Zero (000) was first introduced in 1961, equal access to emergency services has never existed - until now.

In an emergency, you can open the AEI App and press and hold the red circle for three seconds. You'll be instantly connected to an Auslan interpreter via video. They'll then contact 000 and relay your message for Police, Fire, or Ambulance.

Have you heard about the National Assistance Card? It's now available for people with autism and people with brain injury across the country.

The card helps a person communicate their unique needs. This is useful for daily tasks, like shopping, or in emergencies.

Cardholders can list the impacts of their disability on the card. They can also add more details to the QR code by adding a written message or recorded video.

Current cardholders report that the card gives them more confidence and independence. It makes them feel more comfortable accessing services in the community.

🌟 Moment of Gratitude 🌟
This past week has been a week of meet and greets with new participants, Auslan interpreting, and meaningful catch-ups.

I’ve been reflecting on just how much of a privilege my role as a Support Coordinator truly is.

Every person I work with deserves a voice, choice, and above all, respect.

I will always have your back. I will always be genuine. And I will always offer transparency in every way I can.

As a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults), I grew up witnessing my parents being left out of conversations, often relying on us kids to explain what was going on. That experience shaped me into the advocate I am today.

It’s personal. It’s passionate. And it’s purposeful.
You deserve to be seen, heard, and supported always.
