But if the pain keeps coming back, it’s often a sign something deeper hasn’t been addressed.

Foot pain doesn’t always come from what you think it does.
Many conditions feel similar, which is why treating symptoms alone often leads to temporary relief, not real resolution.

If you’ve been dealing with recurring pain, it may be because the root cause hasn’t been properly identified.
The right diagnosis changes everything. 🦶

Reconstructive foreorefoot surgery often involves HAV (bunion) correction, decompression of metatarsals and hammer toe correction. Using mostly MIS techniques all joints are spared and apart from bunion pin no other fixations were used. Day surgery, immediate walk in sandals for 3 weeks followed by sport shoes.

Patient with long standing bunions and painful hammer toes. She was not able to wear closed shoes for the last 2 years and experiencing pain at the hammer toes and bunions. She was originally booked (somewhere else) to have big toe joint arthrodesis (fusion) with pins through her hammer toes where she was going to have 1 week in hospital and 6 weeks with pins sticking from her toes. She was going to have one foot at a time which meant 6 - 12 months of recovery. Often these patients never end up having the other foot due to level of post operative stress. Instead she decided to have forefoot reconstruction with key hole approach at Sydney Foot Surgery. Due to the relative simplicity of the procedures and she could have both feet done at the same time. She was weight bearing immediately after surgery with no pins or plates through her joints. She went back home the same day walking in surgical sandals. She was in her sport shoes by week three. The best thing is that she has full motion in all her joints including the second digits on both feet. These are 3 month post op pictures and she is extremely happy. MIS surgery revolutionized the foot surgery and made it easier foe patients have their foot back the how it was. (Patient has full consent to have her pictures on media).
