2026 WEEKLY PROGRAMS - MENTORING

1:1 mentoring support is available every week if required. We match one of our lovely team to ensure you feel comfortable and safe during supports. The activities are completely up to the participant's choice, with the goal to access the community and build rapport with the support worker. When there is rapport built and comfortability, NDIS goals are more likely to be achieved. The supports can be in-home if needed, or out in the community. These mentoring sessions are designed to empower our participants and help them develop independent living skills and build a daily routine.

If you would like to get involved with us, please reach out via phone at 8285 3313 or via email at intaketeam@empoweringfutures.com.au.

Adapted Football is back for 2026!

The Empowering Futures and Kilburn FC collaboration has returned for season 2, and the vision is bigger and better!

Everyone is welcome - come and develop your footy skills in a non-competitive and supportive environment.

This is for those that want to be involved in a footy team, but are not ready to be in a competitive football setting. You can develop cognitive skills and build team morale at your own pace, and enjoy a safe, non-physical experience. There is NO tackling during the games - only tagging.

Sessions take place at Kilburn Football Club, at 51 Lionel Avenue, Blair Athol.

Non-EF participants are just as welcome to join - the only requirement is that you bring your own support worker. If you need a support worker, or transport, contact us and we can organise it for you.

Prices are $10 per session. Season 2026 underway!

Weekly programs are back for 2026!

Empowering Futures offers a range of options to support you during the week.

Day Options are our daily 9am-3pm sessions based at our North and South hubs, running from Monday-Friday. These sessions run all year round, even during school holidays. Activities such as cooking, outings, games days and food shopping are included, helping you develop vital independent living skills as well as socialising and accessing the community.

1:1 Mentoring is our individualised support option, and is offered at any time during the week and weekend. Activities are up to the participant, enabling choice and building routines. Participants are empowered to achieve their NDIS goals with the support and safety of a consistent support worker. Supports can be in-home, focusing on household tasks and independent living skills, or out in the community, where the participant may want to learn public transport skills or building their social etiquette.

Social Groups are our specialised groups tailored to specific skills and interests. We have a Healthy Hearts cooking group, North and South, once a week, a music group that runs from our EF office in Elizabeth on a Thursday afternoon, and Saturday groups that run every Saturday from 9:30am-2:30pm. These Saturday groups run during the school term, and there are seven different groups to allow everyone to be involved and connected with people of similar age and interests: North Boys Group, North and South Girls Group, North Kids Club, South Teens Club, Ladies Being Girls and Men Being Boys, covering all ages that we currently support.

Inclusive Sports allow participants to be a part of a team and experience competitive sport in a modified and supportive environment. We have 10-pin bowling sessions every Tuesday and Friday after school, basketball teams in an inclusive league (Wednesdays are semi-competitive, Thursdays are modified and inclusive rules), and Adapted Football, our newest program, for beginners to slowly develop their kicking and handballing skills in a safe and non-competitive setting. These sessions are followed by a sausage sizzle and time to make connections and develop social skills.

If you are interested in any of our weekly programs for 2026, please get in touch at intaketeam@empoweringfutures.com.au or at 8285 3313.

HOLIDAYS HIGHLIGHTS

As the school year for 2026 is underway and weekly programs are back to normality, let's take a look at some of our favourite snaps from our Inclusive Holiday Program over the Christmas break.

Our IHP is designed for participants to access the community and develop friendships with kids of similar age while they are on a break from school, but it is not only for kids in school - anyone up to age 65 is welcome to join us during the holidays!

From strawberry picking, to laser skirmish, to Christmas baking and watching movies, these holidays were filled with fun activities.

Build capacity, develop social skills and access the community with Empowering Futures today!

We had a great day yet again at our annual end of year graduation event for 2025 on Saturday! With over 200 people in attendance, we celebrated all of our participants' hard work and development across the year, rewarding those who completed our programs for 2025 with certificates. We also gave away hundreds of prizes thanks to some very kind donations from some of our beloved families. Our Men Being Boys program helped cook the BBQ, and the incredible EF band rocked the place as they always do. All in all, it was a fantastic celebration to an awesome year at Empowering Futures!

About Us

Empowering Futures is a learning environment based around training to give participants the empowerment to have a voice, make their own choices and take control and plan for their future.

Empowering Futures is a unique provider. At present, we are the only providers that offer 1:1 independence training within your own home as well as Tailored life skills programs. We will work with all people with a disability even if you do not have a NDIS Plan and we have an extensive network of provider links to assist you in finding appropriate services. We look to empower each individual with skills in all areas of their lives so they can reach maximum independence.

We work alongside participants to assist them in learning skills for self-advocacy, living skills, life skills and social inclusion. We have a program for community support workers to learn the basic principles and fundamentals of care work.

All Empowering Futures participants will be given a well-being plan. Training in living and life skills will be based on each individuals learning style, needs and goals to ensure a person-centred approach to empower them with the skills and tools to achieve maximum results and live a more independent lifestyle of their choice with fewer supports. All training is based on Adult learning principles and SMART Goals ( Specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, time-bound)
