If you are new to us, we have the amazing lineup of NINE surgeons from NINE surgical specialties where they will shed light on the training pathway and lifestyle of their specialty. AND maybe even some potential research opportunities 🤩
There will be 3 sessions on the night, with each specialist's talk hosted concurrently in separate rooms (MDSC symposia style iykyk):
⭕️ Session 1 (6-7 pm): Prof Kate Drummond from neurosurgery, Dr Krinal Mori from general surgery, Dr Keith Choong from ENT;
⭕️ Session 2 (7-8 pm): Prof Peter Choong from orthopaedics, Dr Alison Bryant-Smith/Dr Ekaterina Jovic from obs and gyn, and Dr Dan Wilks from plastics;
⭕️ Session 3 (8-9 pm): Prof Justin Yeung from colorectal, Dr Bernard Allard from vascular and Dr Edward Burato of paediatric cardiothoracic surgery
If you are looking to network with some of the greatest of their field, this is the event you DON'T wanna miss out on!
📍 Latham, Lowe and Medley Theatres, Redmond Barry Building, Parkville Campus, University of Melbourne
📅 Tue 9th Sep
⏰ 5:30-9 pm
🕺 open to MD students of all year levels, clinical school and uni
It will be a FIRST COME FIRST SERVED basis, so if you are particularly keen on a specialty, come in early to make sure you get your spot! We will unfortunately have to turn away people when the room is at capacity 😫 AND there WILL be catering on the night, served between session 2 and session 3.
All in all, this is a great event for those of you who are even a little bit curious of what a surgeon does. So get ready and bring all your burning questions and maybe a couple of friends😜
