"Am I allowed to eat dessert?" A question we are asked, almost every day.

Well, this all depends on your individual goals. However, we do encourage our clients to enjoy all foods in moderation. 🍫

If your goal is to be mindful of your overall sugar intake, here are a few options you may consider.

What is your favourite dessert option? Tell us in the comments.

Malnutrition Week 2025 may have just passed, but the message remains just as important.

Did you know that 1 in 2 older adults in the community are at risk of malnutrition?

This week, we're reminding everyone to stay alert to the silent signs of malnutrition—because it’s not always easy to spot.

Ask yourself:
- Are you enjoying your favourite foods less?
- Do your dentures feel loose?
- Are your clothes or jewellery fitting more loosely?
- Have you noticed changes in your appetite?

These small changes could point to something bigger—your body may not be getting the nutrition it needs. This may lead to factors such as increased infections, increased risk of falls, poor wound healing and muscle loss. Don’t overlook the signs. Talk to a health professional.

Fats are an important part of our heart health. ❤️

Our good fats (monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats) help to improve our cholesterol levels by decreasing our bad cholesterol and increasing our good cholesterol, helping to decrease our risk of heart disease. They may also reduce inflammation in the body.

On the other hand, saturated and trans fats can increase our bad cholesterol, increasing our risk of heart disease.

Interested to find out more? Book a consultation with one of our Dietitians today to find out how you can incorporate more good fats into your diet.
