Meet Amaya! 👋
Amaya is part of our wonderful Client Contact Centre, and has been with us for just over one year.
We sat down with Amaya to learn more about her role and how the work she does impacts clients. When asked to describe her role in 3 words, Amaya said "energetic, moving, and joyful" - a spot on description for someone who is engaging with our clients and helping shape their first experiences of our organisation.
Thank you for all the work you do Amaya! 🫶

We had a wide range of conversations with our clients at the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show.🩷
Here’s what people shared when they found us at the show.
By being there in person, we made it easier for our community to connect, ask questions, and get the support they need—right where they are. 🫶
If you're between 50 to 74 years old, have no breast symptoms and it’s been 2 years since your last breast screen, book an appointment with us at the link below.
And that's a wrap of the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show! 💐
It was great connecting with our community, sharing information about breast health, supporting people to book their breast screens, and have meaningful conversations about early detection over the course of the five days.
Thank you to everyone who visited our stall and took the time to engage with us. 🫶

And that's a wrap for March! 🎬
This was an incredible month connecting with communities and partnering with organisations to educate them on breast health and the importance of our program through information stalls and information sessions. 💗
We attended City of Kingston Women of the Year Awards, had multiple information sessions with Glen Eira Adult Learning Centre and GENWest, hosted an information desk at Lalor Neighbourhood House and multiple group bookings. We’re so grateful to our team, partners and clients for making these events and sessions happen! ✨

Last month, we delivered two Beautiful Shawl Project visits on our mobile screening van, in partnership with MDAS Kerang and Mullum Mullum Indigenous Gathering Place. 💕✨
We’re so thankful for , the ACCOs and Aboriginal-led services who continue to support this work and help make breast screening a more culturally safe experience for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women.

BreastScreen Victoria aims to reduce the impact of a breast cancer diagnosis ensuring you have the best health outcome through early detection. We aim to provide free mammograms to 70% of women aged 50−74 every two years, as they are the group most at risk of developing the disease. However, all eligible Victorians 40+ are eligible to attend.
BreastScreen Victoria is made up three components:
BreastScreen coordination unit (BCU). The BCU is responsible for administering the funding for screening, reading and assessment services. It is also the central hub for all information, appointment services, communications, recruitment, MSS coordination, and monitoring service levels to implement quality improvements.
Screening service providers. With 42 permanent screening clinics across Victoria, and 25 sites that are visited every two years by the mobile screening service (MSS), we strive for equality of access for all eligible Victorians.
Reading and assessment services. BreastScreen Victoria engages with eight reading and assessment centres across the Victoria. These services read images from multiple sites, including the MSS, and also provide all clinical services from the initial breast screen to any further procedures required to the point of diagnosis.
BreastScreen Victoria is a fully accredited part of BreastScreen Australia, and is jointly funded by the Victorian and Commonwealth Governments.
