New research led by Professor Bruce Mann in partnership with us and the Royal Melbourne Hospital has confirmed what we've long known - that early detection of breast cancer leads to better health outcomes.
This research shows that women who take part in regular breast screening are more likely to survive breast cancer and often need less intensive treatment when diagnosed.
This is your reminder - if you're aged 50 to 74 with no breast symptoms, book your free, 10 minute breast screen today.

On the final day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Dr Alia Kaderbhai teaches us how to be breast aware in 3 simple steps: look, feel and learn.
If you are a woman or trans and gender diverse aged between 50-74 it's important to know the look and feel of your breasts. Being breast aware also includes having a breast screen when you are due. Itโs important to see a doctor if you notice any changes.
If you have no breast symptoms and you're due for a breast screen call 13 20 50 or book via the link below. ๐

We're loving seeing our team get into the Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) spirit!
We had a field of pink ladies, plus many of our clinics turned pink by spreading awareness and a bit of fun with their creative and bright decorations. ๐
We hope the decorations brought our clients some joy when arriving for their appointments. ๐ซถ
A special thanks to our amazing team for getting involved in the BCAM spirit!

BreastScreen Victoria aims to reduce the impact of a breast cancer diagnosis ensuring you have the best health outcome through early detection. We aim to provide free mammograms to 70% of women aged 50โ74 every two years, as they are the group most at risk of developing the disease. However, all eligible Victorians 40+ are eligible to attend.
BreastScreen Victoria is made up three components:
BreastScreen coordination unit (BCU). The BCU is responsible for administering the funding for screening, reading and assessment services. It is also the central hub for all information, appointment services, communications, recruitment, MSS coordination, and monitoring service levels to implement quality improvements.
Screening service providers. With 42 permanent screening clinics across Victoria, and 25 sites that are visited every two years by the mobile screening service (MSS), we strive for equality of access for all eligible Victorians.
Reading and assessment services. BreastScreen Victoria engages with eight reading and assessment centres across the Victoria. These services read images from multiple sites, including the MSS, and also provide all clinical services from the initial breast screen to any further procedures required to the point of diagnosis.
BreastScreen Victoria is a fully accredited part of BreastScreen Australia, and is jointly funded by the Victorian and Commonwealth Governments.
