You may not be aware of the govts proposal for 60 Day Dispensing of medications.

What this means is you will pay us for one medication (subsidised by the PBS), the government will pay us the dispensing fee and handling fee for one medication but you would receive two months worth of certain medications, cutting our professional fees in half!

Since COVID we have been experiencing ongoing medication shortages for many of the molecules on the list recommended for 60 day dispensing. Some of them have been resolved after customers stopped panic buying and some are still ongoing which takes up alot of our day to source or find alternatives. We are concerned that if we suddenly hand out two months to every customer we will be back in that dangerous situation .

We support the govt to half your patient co-payment but not to take it from us, the pharmacists providing the service and not at the risk of patients not receiving their essential medication.

Last year we successfully lobbied the government to reduce the copayment from $46.50 to $30 and already offer hundreds of medication at discounted rates.

This will result in potential closures of small and regional pharmacies, reduced hours, reduced work force, increased fees for all the free services we currently provide and increase costs overall to you, our patients.

Please take a second to sign this petition, we need to reach over 500,000 signatures to reverse this irresponsible decision by the govt.
