How do you make a salad keto-friendly? (Not a joke set up 😝)

You stick to non-starchy veg, marinate your protein in big flavours like harissa paste and pour tahini dressing all over it.. yummm 😋
PS. I surprised myself with this combo.. the dressing is so simple - just tahini, lemon juice, salt, pepper and a splash of water - enjoy! 🥗

If health is your goal, how can you plan to make it happen? 🤓
Meal planning is one way to ensure your health is heading in the right direction. It makes you more accountable for what you’re eating, makes you more aware of your food waste and how to reduce it. It’s easier to write shopping lists and be more efficient at the shops and in the kitchen. 🥗
Pro tip - keep your previous meal plans so you can reuse them to save yourself time in the future 👏🏼

🎄🧑🏼‍🎄For those trying to improve their health and lifestyle, festive events can feel like a bit of a minefield. Here’s some simple tips for not straying too far off track:
- choose a palm sized amount of protein
- load your plate with veggies (but stick to just one potato)
- choose sauces that aren’t sugar based: avoid the cranberry, apple or mint sauces and choose a mustard or a little gravy
- fill your plate once and let it digest for 20 minutes before deciding on whether you’re still hungry - are you actually hungry or just over indulging?
- be mindful of alcohol consumption, drink water between drinks
- enjoy a small portion of dessert if you wish!

Ultimately, just enjoy yourself! It’s one day (or maybe 2-3) and you already have all the skills to get back to your usual healthy eating patterns afterwards. There’s no need for mad detoxes or crazy restrictions to make up for over doing it, just go back to loading up on veggies 🥗

- Clinical Nutritionist- Gabrielle specialises in nutrition for women’s wellness. She loves working with preconception, pregnancy and infant health, but also women’s hormonal and mental health. She not only looks at dietary factors, but addresses limiting lifestyle factors and works on their improvement. She values the importance of balancing physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health to achieve well-being. As a previous professional cook, working in kitchens of Perth since 2011, Gabrielle has a natural way with food. She has integrated her passion for growing food, cooking with fresh produce, and nourishing the body into her practice, along with encouraging self-love and self-care practices.
