Another successful short-term respite at Thomas and Friends! This is our second time heading down, with the amazing Kaz taking the lead and going both times.

This weekend was so wonderfully planned and thoughtfully organised, with each person provided their own individualised schedule. Rhi had four STRs to manage in one weekend, and I’m so proud of her!

So proud of these three guys. A weekend of new experiences, new places, and being away from home is huge. Jacko and our friend enjoyed accommodation down the road, while Kaz stayed with the two oldest.

Tonight we trialled something new! With the exciting expansion of our amazing workforce, we’ve divided our team meetings into two options. This gives everyone a better opportunity to attend and ensures all staff can participate.

We had a fantastic group of 11 team members join us this evening. As part of the session, we were inducted into our wheelchair-accessible van, with Aidan kindly volunteering to support staff and help create a positive and relaxed learning experience.

Providing on-site training and thorough inductions for our vans is essential. It ensures safety, confidence, and consistency for all staff and the participants we support.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and contributed! (Cannot believe I forgot a team photo!)

We’re excited to share our Autumn School Holiday Program 2026 with you! With a variety of fun, engaging and inclusive activities planned, it’s set to be an amazing two weeks.

We are thrilled to launch a dedicated Teens-Only Program for participants aged 13 years and over.
Don’t worry — participants can still access our broader holiday program as well. This simply gives teens an opportunity to connect with peers in a more age-focused setting.

Respite weekend with the most dedicated team there is! 💛
Did you know each month our friends rotate for a weekend away — with the same consistent roster every time? That consistency builds trust, confidence, and connection.

We do respite differently. From dining out experiences to paid activities through Summit, every weekend is designed for capacity building and creating new opportunities.

The Newcastle Show was a hit 🎡 — and of course we’re making our way around the famous fish and chips! Off to the show as a paid activity and out for another memory-making evening.

Grateful for a team that makes it all possible. ✨

Days like this are what it’s all about 🌊☀️

Caleb and our friend spent the day soaking up the best of it, beach time, ferry rides and a bit of basketball 🏀

At the heart of what we do is consistency and connection. These two have built such a strong bond over time, and it shows in the way they support each other, have a laugh and just genuinely enjoy being in each other’s company 🤍

It’s not just about the activities, it’s about trust, familiarity and creating a space where people feel comfortable, understood and themselves.
