Reminder that Vet School Picnic is this Thursday 🎉

Join us 5pm at Central Walkway for a relaxing & fun afternoon

All vet student, staff, partners, friends, kids and excitingly WELL BEHAVED doggos are welcome! 🐾

There will be music, food, games and dogs to pat.🧺🐶🎵

Also for those who signed up for the PSN buddy program this is a great way to meet your buddy face to face.

All food & picnic rugs are provided, so bring yourself and your people! Looking forward to seeing you there!

Hello everyone!
With the start of Semester 1, 2026 almost upon us, we are opening expressions of interest for our next intake of PSN mentors! If you have any interest in becoming a mentor and would like to be kept in the loop, please fill out the form below. It will help us with planning for this year's mentor training.

Hub Afterhours is back!!!

Every week from now on, PSN will be hosting at least 1 hub afterhour session! Current timetable as follow:
18/10 Sat 1-4pm
25/10 Sat 1-4pm
30/10 Thurs 5-7pm
3/11 Mon 5-7pm

Reminders.
For any queries regarding location of equipments, feel free to approach one of our kind PSN mentors, they’ll be happy to help >< But remember, mentors are not tutors nor cleaners, please tidy up your own space before leaving and be respectful to your peers and equipments in the hub.

Rules.
- Covered footwear
- No food or drinks in the main area, except in clinic rooms and breakout space at the back of the hub.
- All equipments belong to the hub, please do not take them away, except those at the entrance which stated otherwise.
- If you use the last of any consumable, please let the hub know at svs-hub@uq.edu.au

Thank you for your attention and let’s express our deepest gratitude to PSN mentors who are helping out in those sessions!

Special thanks to SVS, the Hub - Fran and Anthony, UQVSA as well as UQPSN execs and mentors in bringing this event together! 🫶🏻

Last Thursday's PSN Story Time marked the end of our annual Mental Health Week events!
We hope students came away from this feeling refreshed, full of resolve, and reminded of the need for self-compassion, particularly as we dive into the 🌵spiky🌵 part of semester 2.
Remember to look out for your friends and peers, and that our mentors are here if you are feeling stressed/overwhelmed/in need of a chat 🫶💛

Week 5 is coming soon — and we know the semester can start to feel a little heavy… That’s why “Mental Health Week” couldn’t come at a better time!

Take a breather, connect with your peers, and join us for activities designed to support your wellbeing — from inspiring staff stories to practical tips on navigating challenges. Let’s pause, reset, and remind ourselves that looking after our mental health is just as important as keeping up with our studies. It’s always something worth talking about!
