📍✨ THE CARESPACE ADMIN TEAM HAVE A NEW HOME! ✨

We’re excited to share yet another bigger and better location as CareSpace continues to grow and evolve 💜

With our Cooking Program now running from a beautiful farm in Batesford 🧑‍🍳🌾 and our brand-new STA home now open in Mt Duneed 🏡 — we’ve made the decision to close our Roslyn Road Hub as it’s no longer needed.

We’re also proud to share that our High Intensity and Nursing supports have moved to a fully accessible location in Armstrong Creek, providing greater comfort, accessibility, and quality care for our participants.

And now for the exciting part…

🌮🎉 Farm to Fork Fiesta at CareSpace! 🎉🌮

This week our Farm to Fork Cooking Program turned up the flavour with a vibrant Mexican-themed fiesta! Participants enjoyed a fun cultural experience while learning new cooking skills, exploring fresh ingredients, and sharing a delicious meal together. 🇲🇽

This program builds essential skills for participants working towards independence or employment goals, while also being the perfect place for those who simply enjoy the company of good friends and great food.

Please join us in welcoming Carolyn McDiarmid to the CareSpace team!

Caz joins us as our new Office Manager, overseeing the daily operations of the CareSpace team and helping ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes for our participants, families, and staff.

Many in our community may already know Carolyn through the incredibly heartfelt book she created alongside Angela Blakston, sharing her journey of raising a child with Down syndrome — a story that has touched so many.

Carolyn brings a lifetime of knowledge to the disability sector, with both professional and personal lived experience. From roles including Family Engagement Officer, and more recently working in the Support Coordination space, Carolyn has developed a deep understanding of what it takes to support people with genuine care, connection, and compassion.

Her experience, insight, and values align so beautifully with what CareSpace stands for, and we know she will play an important role in helping our participants receive the high level of support they need to live the life they choose.

We are absolutely thrilled to have you with us, Caz. Welcome to the CareSpace family 🌿

‼️The CareSpace Disability & Nursing Services office will be closed today, Monday 9 March in observance of the Labour Day Public Holiday.

All In-home Care, and Community Access will continue as normal.

Our admin team will return on Tuesday and respond to all enquiries as soon as possible.

⭐️ FINAL DRAFT PICK ANNOUNCEMENT ⭐️

With our final draft move, CareSpace has dipped into the AFL Supplementary Old Timers List to secure… drumroll please…

🏆 Adam Cooney!

250 AFL games.
202 goals.
🏅 2008 Brownlow Medal winner.

More affectionately known (by himself) as “The Brownlow Medallist” 😄

And if you don’t remember him from his time dominating with the Dogs and Bombers, you might remember him surviving the jungle on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! 🌴🐍

But beyond the footy field and reality TV, Adam brings something even more important — years of genuine dedication to the disability sector. He’s been volunteering alongside CareSpace for many years… so we figured it was about time we gave him a locker and a payslip!

Adam will be working across our incredible programs, sharing pearls of wisdom from his playing days, building confidence, encouraging resilience, and helping participants kick their own goals.

⭐️ With our third pick, allow us to introduce: Joel Edwards — better known as “The Duck”. 🦆

A burly full forward who strikes fear into defenders, Joel brings just as much heart off the field.

He currently works in one of our Supported Independent Living homes and is famous (locally, at least!) for his legendary cheese and ham crumpets.

We’re lucky to have The Duck bringing his energy, strength, and snacks to the CareSpace team!
