Well this was a bit surreal… Digga and I made it into the Geelong Advertiser today! 🐾📰

They shared our story, chatted about our new podcast, and highlighted how we’re working to support our community (and their beloved pets). On top of that, we’re incredibly grateful to be receiving a Victorian Government grant to help fund a purpose-built van — something that’s going to make a huge difference in what we can do moving forward.

It’s all feeling very real, and we couldn’t do any of this without the amazing support around us 💛

Right now, we’re being inundated with requests for pet food 💔🐾

It’s a reflection of just how tough things are for so many people in our community — and how much their pets mean to them. No one should have to choose between feeding themselves or their beloved companion.

Due to capacity, we’re unable to deliver food directly to homes. Instead, we’re working closely with a network of incredible, non-judgemental support organisations who are there to help people through difficult times.

If you or someone you know needs support, please reach out to one of these services. We will be providing them with more food at the end of the month. These organisations are kind, compassionate, and ready to help — no questions, no judgement, just support when it’s needed most.

We would like to share some very exciting news and say thank you so much for the support from the Victorian Government for this grant and believing in what we do.

In two years we have helped so many in our community keep their pets and provided over 36,000 pet meals, all from the back of a tiny little sedan. Being able to get a purpose built van will enable us to be able to do our work safely and impact more.

We cannot express how grateful we are!

Congratulations to Don’t Forget My Pet Foundation on securing funding for the Allan Government’s Paws on Wheels initiative

This support will fund a purpose-built transport van and secure cat enclosures- making it easier and safer for people and their pets during times of crisis.

Congratulations Alysha and team, and thank you for everything you do to keep people and their pets together when it matters most.

🐾💙 Pet Health Check Days Are Coming to Norlane & Whittington! 💙🐾

We know times are tough right now, and rising costs can make it harder to keep up with everything — but your beloved pets still deserve the very best care. That’s why Don’t Forget My Pet is proud to be hosting Pet Health Check Days to support our community 💛

📍 Norlane Community Centre – 16 May
📍 Whittington Neighbourhood House – 13 June

These special days are designed for people experiencing financial hardship, helping you keep your furry companions happy, healthy, and by your side 🐶🐱

✨ What’s included?
💉 Vaccinations – just $25 per pet (for concession/pension card holders – must be shown on the day)
🩺 General health checks
🪱 Flea & worming treatment (where available)

⚠️ Please note: If your pet is unwell, they won’t be able to be vaccinated on the day. If you’re after a health check only, email us at hello@dontforgetmypet.org.au

We had the BEST time handing over our raffle prize to this absolutely gorgeous little pug 🐾💛

Safe to say… we may have taken full advantage of the moment with some very generous cuddles (for quality control purposes, of course 😄).

We hope this sweet boy enjoys every single one of his goodies — he’s definitely living the VIP life now! 🛍️🐶
