On Friday I had the privilege of guiding our friend through the process of birthing her own drum. It was a magical day and her drum was perfect.

I’d love to tell her story, but of course, it’s not mine to tell, except to say that my backyard was full of ancestors, animals and loved ones in spirit.

The skins soaked in ceremony with grandfaher sage and rosemary from a very special garden, and my most favourite isis master crystal.

The process for me to choose a skin to work with starts many days before it goes into the water to soak. Connecting with the spirit of the animal when I go through the process to choose it I receive messages - mostly about the animal but when I put the skin into the water, it’s like some magical alchemic process and all of the information about the purpose of the drum comes flooding in.  it truly is the most magical thing.

Even if I only have one person coming to birth a drum one-on-one I always select two skins to go in the water. I like the person to have a choice but they always always choose the skin that has given me all of the information. Then I get a clear vision about the things that need to go in the water to support the process - plants and crystals of course. Sometimes other pieces of nature. When I run group workshops, the crystals are matched with the skin and the person through psychic information and visions, and again the person selecting the crystal is always always matched with the “right” skin. After all these years, it still blows my mind. 

The drum is such a powerful medicine tool. It has the ability to transcend whatever you thought was possible. The 40 days of birthing begins the day after the drum is made. This is also a powerful powerful time for the new custodian and holder of the medicine. 

I haven’t facilitated a drum workshop in over 18 months. I won’t bore you with the details now as to why, but if you would like to birth your own drum make contact with me. I’ll also have a weekend workshop being advertised soon.

Is anyone else noticing the hilarious plot twist happening in the spiritual world right now?

For YEARS “new age” wannabe gurus have floated around like they were carved from quartz, made of moon dust and imported Himalayan oxygen, in their white cheesecloth dresses, celery-juice vegan bodies, speaking in fake tongues and spruiking their made up modalities.

They made the genuine healers and light workers feel bad. Like we weren’t enough. Not spiritual enough. Not skinny enough. Not enough love and light. Not enlightened enough. Not evolved enough. Vibration not high enough. Not healed enough. Not ascending high enough. Like we were “doing it all wrong”.

The polished spiritual influencers were out there telling everyone how aligned they were… while privately falling apart, spiritually bypassing everything, and pretending their shadow didn’t exist.

Now those same pretenders are slowly stepping out of the linen closet, announcing that the new age persona isn’t actually working for them. They’ve had to “deconstruct” their identity, “find their authenticity,” and “this new age spirituality is fake, I’ve found God” and still inviting their followers to come along!

Meanwhile, the genuine ones who actually do the work, hold the space for others, study, practice, heal, embody - don’t have to do anything different.

And it’s kind of hilarious watching from the sideline. It’s wild watching them deliver it like they invented it.

Welcome back to Earth, kids. (Your) God doesn’t give a f**k what colour cheesecloth you wear!

We made it to the wedding yesterday. A most beautiful wedding with our friends that looked so beautiful.

Not sure how we made it - I’ve been in bed all week and Jane has been on nightshift.

This post is about love ❤️ though. And the universe too. Our friends spoke about many sliding door moments in their vows and Jane and I are similar.

The steps were laid out in perfect order for us to meet. I can see them light up from the time I was 16/17 yrs old. One step different and we may have not met. Maybe! We have so many stories of being in the same place at the same time and we never met. If the chain of people that I had to know and be with was any different, it may not have lead to Jane. And it all started with a boy I was madly in love with in high school who joined the army and was stationed at Bonegilla. If I’d not got my 3rd uni preference for Wodonga, none of it would’ve happened. (Even though it was my 3rd choice, I knew I was going there).

And now look at us. Almost 19 years later with lots of ups and downs, lots of growth, lots of love and now two mad women in menopause. And ain’t that a fun ride. 😳 One hormonally unbalanced woman is one thing, but two… wowee 😂
