Two great meetings this week. Glenn Butcher MP on Wednesday about the Construction Code. Dee and Chloe from GAPDL yesterday about inclusive tourism. The warmth around us makes our work so worthwhile!

A big thank you to Queenslanders with Disability Network who gave us the heads-up on a proposal to wind back the Construction Code accessibility standards in Queensland. Minimum standards for accessible living (wider doorways, non-step entry, reinforced bathroom walls for the future erection of safety rails if needed) were accepted by the Queensland Government in 2023. We are now hearing that this is having a negative impact on the productivity of our construction sector. This is not just a disability issue. There are so many parts of our community that will be impacted by such a move. Please share as the QLD Government needs to hear that this is a big backwards step!
