Add instead of reduce!🍎
At this time of year, leading into summer, it’s common for people to want to ‘diet’ or try to lose weight. For anyone who’s tried ‘dieting’ themselves or knows someone who has, the most common phrases you’ll say or hear are ‘I’ll just cut out sugar’ or ‘I’m not having any carbs’. So from the get go, they’re already coming from a negative place of having to eliminate and avoid certain foods/food groups. This is not ideal🙅🏼♀️ as restricting foods often only ends up making you want them more!
Instead, look at foods you can add into your day that are going to provide you nourishment & keep you full🥕 For example, fruits, vegetable & wholegrains are high in fibre and are relatively high in volume compared to their calorie amount, which makes them great additions to help with satiety & weight loss - if that is your goal. By introducing more of these foods, you will become fuller & naturally want less of the foods you planned on cutting out anyway.
There is no right or wrong way to do it, but if you’re someone who finds restricting foods only makes you want them more, this may be an option for you!🙋🏼♀️
