This one’s for the men too!

Your hormones are made from fats and cholesterol, so when you’re not eating enough healthy fats, your body simply doesn’t have the building blocks it needs.

I stress “healthy” fats ie avocado, olive oil, nuts & seeds, fatty fish.

Then add stress into the mix (which is all of us) and your body will always prioritise survival over reproduction. Diverting those limited resources into making cortisol instead of progesterone and other s*x hormones.

The result? PMS, low libido, irregular cycles, mood swings, fatigue, and feeling completely out of balance.

🐟Focus on anti-inflammatory foods like colourful vegetables, omega-3 rich fish, olive oil, nuts and seeds. These help calm inflammatory pathways linked to pain.

🥦Increase fibre from vegetables, legumes, seeds and Whole Foods to support the gut in clearing excess estrogen through the bowels.

🫜Support the liver and bile flow with bitter foods like rocket, radish, cabbage and herbs. This helps the body process and eliminate hormones more efficiently.

🩸Replete and nourish the body after a period, with blood enriching foods like beetroot, legumes, nuts and seeds, lean red meat, spinach, dates, pomegranate.

🍩Reducing ultra-processed foods, excess sugar and alcohol can also help lower the inflammatory load on the body.

💗 Ladies, your period can give you clues as to what’s happening with your hormones.

🩸Heavy periods can be related to estrogen dominance relative to progesterone and poor estrogen detox via the liver

🩸Irregular cycles - long or short can indicate PCOS, low progesterone, high prolactin and ovulation problems.

🩸Clotting can be an estrogen detox issue and indicate inflammation

🩸Painful periods indicate inflammation, hormonal & prostaglandin imbalance.

🩸Scanty bleeds can mean low estrogen, PCOS or high prolactin

🩸PMS can be progesterone deficiency or poor GABA signaling, adrenal or blood sugar issues.

✨As with any symptoms, the body is giving subtle hints. It’s complex and nuanced for each individual.

My Move and Soothe Mix…
💩problems are our specialty!

💚Every herbal medicine I make is bespoke. No mix, is ever the same. That’s what I adore about herbs.
💫They have personalities, energetics and actions specific to your needs.

With constipation, there’s a strain on the liver as toxins are being recirculated, instead of excreted. So we include liver herbs to help detox and for their bitter properties to promote digestive secretions.

In this mix I have:

🌿Rhubarb - laxative, anti inflammatory, cooling.
🌿Dandelion Root - promotes digestive secretions, reduces bloating, bile and liver action, grounding.

In this day and age of information overload, we can be bombarded and persuaded by the latest fads, trends, ‘fix it’ supplements etc..

Your gut is a complex ecosystem, not something that can be “fixed” with whatever supplement or cleanse is trending on social media this week.

Influencers don’t know your microbiome, your hormones, your stress levels, your history or your blood work. What “worked for them” could actually worsen bloating, anxiety, fatigue, histamine issues or hormone symptoms for you.
