Dear baby #3,

I’m sorry that things aren’t organized for you,
I’m sorry that the excitement is lower for you,
I’m sorry that you don’t get all new things,
I’m sorry if you feel like ‘just another one’,

I promise you, that no matter how unorganized we are,
No matter how much less excitement, joy and enthusiasm there appears to be around you, and how much it feels like if you’re not a girl it’s somehow less special…

You are wanted. You are loved. Mummy, Daddy and your brothers are so excited to meet you, no matter your gender - you complete us, and that my baby is the most special role in this world 🌎

Ps I promise that you’ll have a hospital bag packed and a place to sleep soon!

A little change in perspective never hurt anyone…

How lucky are we to live in a world and society where we get to choose to prioritise and look after our health. For many that is not a choice.

You don’t HAVE to, but you GET to.
And that’s pretty lucky in my book.

If you’re ready to make that choice, hit the message button and send me a DM!

Little fun fact ‘experts’ seem to forget…

Avoiding chemicals and additives is almost impossible, and completely unnecessary.

Food is safe. Eat it

Prioritise Whole Foods for most of your diet, and enjoy all foods in moderation.

🎊 Happy New Year 🎊

It’s time for us all to feel like we need to make resolutions or big changes, and then to click on social media and be told that our resolutions are fraught and pointless, so then we feel like why bother… but kinda still feel like we should.

Here’s the reality:
Most of us ate beyond our needs for the last week or month. There were more social events, Christmas Day itself and then this weird period between Christmas a new year where no one is sure what to do as we wait for another event on new years.

Mostly New Years marks the end of a full social calendar so making new health and fitness goals makes perfect sense, because theoretically there is nothing in our way.

But also?
We bloody feel like it. We may feel slow, sluggish, heavier etc just from the increased food and alcohol. So our body naturally gives us signs to pull in the reigns and eat a bit less, move a bit more.

I guess my point is - the drive you’re feeling now to put a number goal on weight loss, to sign up to a fitness challenge, to start a diet…
It all is a logical response to the last month or so…

But what if… what if…
You just realigned back to your normal, concentrate on small daily habits you can apply to make you feel good, and choose action that you can see yourself repeating day in day out for the rest of your life?
Because I promise you…
a) you will stick with that longer then a loose goal to lose an arbitrary weight figure
b) it will have much more benefit in the long run because you have nailed consistency over perfection.

Christmas and the holidays can be overwhelming for some.

It’s easy to fall I to negative thought patterns and then feel the need to ‘reset’, ‘restart’ or make drastic changes come New Year because of the misguided guilt placed upon us for going hard over the Christmas period.

What if we simply just prioritized habits that we should be focusing on each day anyway?
Drink more water
Asking for help
Eating a decent breakfast each day
Moving our body
Taking some time for ourselves

5 simple things. That’s all.

Don’t let social media tell you anything else,
Keep it simple, and succeed!

Gosh it’s overwhelming at the moment, all the posts, reels and content about how to ‘manage Christmas eating’….

What if it’s something we don’t need to manage?
What if gaining weight wasn’t the worst thing in the world that could happen?

Fearing weight gain is an inherently privileged position. It’s completely self indulgent. That’s not a judgement if you are one that is worried about weight gain…. It’s simple perspective.

There are so many aspects of Christmas, both joyful and stressful alike. Do we really need to add in a fear of gaining weight and a promise to diet in the new year?
Like don’t we have enough to worry about.

This year I challenge you - put your weight aside, stop worrying about over eating, ‘bingeing’, or trying to avoid eating to many treats.

Take a deep breath, and find joy in this time of year. Then move on.

It’s ok…
It’s Christmas time!

Please chill out, enjoy the extra social events, food and joy.

You will not look back and say ‘thank god I didn’t eat xyz’.
You will look back and cherish the memories.

Put food aside.
