I picked up my paint again this week for the first time in ages.

Is it perfect? Absolutely not. Not even close. If perfection were the goal, this thing wouldn’t have made it past the first little doubt in my head.

But here’s the thing, I love it.

Why? Because my hands decided to add their own “creative flair” (thanks, MS 🙃). Every time I picked up a tool, there were tremours. Not exactly the steadiest art assistant.

So I had a choice:
Do I quit and wait for some mythical, perfectly steady future… or do I just roll with it and enjoy the chaos?

I chose chaos.

And honestly? I had a blast. Completely lost in it. No overthinking, no second-guessing, just paint, messy art, and a lot of fun.

Turns out, I’m pretty grateful just to be able to hold the tools and pour the paint. The tremours only win if I’m chasing perfection and let’s be real, perfect sounds exhausting anyway.

It’s not perfect.
But it is fun.

And life’s a lot better when you stop waiting for perfection and just get on with enjoying it.

Got a bitey puppy?
First thing we do as reiki practitioners is apply reiki. But where do you apply it?

To calm pup down?
That's where most send it. And I'm not saying it's wrong, however if you understand why they're bitey it's easier to direct the reiki energy.

So they bite when exhausted or overstimulated and also when in pain from teething.

They're just babies. They learn how the world works through their mouths.

So enforced naps, check they don't need a toilet break, try some frozen treats, kings or even a wet face washer scrunched and frozen and pop them in a crate or oen to sleep

Then offer reiki from the other side of the room for rest and pain reduction. It's amazing how well it works 😉🌻 remember it always goes where it's needed most

There are so many misconceptions regarding the use of oracle cards.

First, they are gentle guidance with the use of a guidebook for beginners.

When trained, you understand clearing the deck, symbolism and connecting to your guides during readings plus so much more

They're adaptable and fun when used correctly.

Today we managed a full 15 minutes hands on with reiki for her teething issues. She loved it, till the footy came on... ball!!

What can I say 🤣🤣🤣

Oracle cards are a gentle introduction to working intuitively. They are a tool of the trade, your training wheels.

Don't get me wrong, I work as an evidential medium and still use them. They can be fun.

They simply have a different purpose. And readings, when executed well, can allow a recipient to grieve, let go, surrender to what will be.

The main thing I see is peace. When people seek answers they will often ask for readings. And if that reading shows compassion and understanding, evidence... it assists in bringing peace to a chaotic world.

I didn't start because I was interested. I resisted initially.

My interest lay in the drawings and artwork in each card, the words used and the colours. How they all blended to tell a story.

Crazy, right?

I was drawn to all 3 rather than how they worked or were used.

Then one day, I met someone who read the cards. She showed me how to get the most out of them. I was hooked.

I hadn't realised how much was involved. Choosing the correct deck, clearing it, how to interpret the symbols, and how many there were, how to connect for clarity... and so much more.

Wow... it was incredible how much I learnt over time. I felt confident in offering readings and trusted what I gave.

And soon I'll be teaching all I know in my upcoming workshop "Whispers of the Oracle".

Our Story

While I’ve been teaching for over 20 years, it wasn’t until I moved to Victoria in 2015 that Your Spirit Coach was born from a group of curious closet spiritual peeps. Originally I just wanted to let people know what it was about but it has grown and now I am using my skills from way back to offer services in energy and crystal healing, reiki (teaching as a reiki master), courses, both online and live, plus after many years of avoiding it, I am now back doing readings. Spreading light and love with a dash of kidnapped dogs and unicorns.
