DDS wouldn’t be what it is today without the incredible people behind it 💙

Our BSP team is at the heart of everything we do, bringing compassion, skill, and genuine care into the lives of the people we support every single day.

This post is a small introduction to just a few of the amazing humans who make it all possible:

✨ Zac
With a background in psychosocial studies and several years of experience as both a support worker and support coordinator, Zac brings a deep understanding of the people he supports. His ability to connect, advocate, and see the bigger picture makes him an invaluable part of our team.

✨ Sam
Starting her career in Early Childhood Intervention and bringing over 10 years of experience, Sam has always led with compassion and expertise. Since transitioning into BSP, she has only continued to flourish, providing thoughtful, consistent, and meaningful support that truly makes a difference.

✨ Pete
With 5 years of Positive Behaviour Support experience in the UK, alongside a background in youth justice and corrections, Pete brings a wealth of knowledge, resilience, and perspective. Since commencing as a BSP in Australia just over a year ago, he has made a remarkable impact building strong relationships and supporting positive change with authenticity and care.

Over the past three months at Delight Disability Services, we’ve been incredibly grateful to grow alongside the people who matter most, our participants, their families, and our wider support network.

In this short time, our team has grown to four dedicated practitioners, and we’re now supporting over 50 participants. While we’re proud of this growth, what matters most to us is that every person we support feels genuinely cared for, heard, and understood.

We know that Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), especially areas like restrictive practices and compliance requirements, can sometimes feel overwhelming or confusing for families. That’s why we focus on making everything as clear, practical, and person-centred as possible.

Recently, one of our team members created and shared a workbook with a family to help explain restrictive practices in a way that felt accessible and easy to understand because we believe support should empower, not complicate.

We feel truly privileged to walk alongside our participants, families, and stakeholders, and to work together towards meaningful, positive outcomes.

Over the coming weeks, we’re excited to introduce you to our team, the people who bring this work to life every day.

Thank you for trusting us to be part of your journey 🤍

✨ What does Behaviour Support look like at Delight Disability Services? ✨

We’ve put together a short slide series to help explain what Behaviour Support actually looks like, our role as practitioners, and how we work alongside participants, families, and support teams to create meaningful and positive change.

We know the NDIS and especially Behaviour Support can sometimes feel confusing, overwhelming, and full of complicated language. Many families and participants aren’t always sure where to start, what a Behaviour Support Practitioner does, or how the process works.

That’s exactly why we do what we do.

At Delight Disability Services, our Behaviour Support team focuses on:
✔ Understanding the why behind behaviours
✔ Supporting participants to build skills and independence
✔ Working closely with families and support teams
✔ Creating practical strategies that actually work in everyday life

Most importantly, we believe in walking alongside people through the process, helping make things clearer and less overwhelming.

If you have questions, are curious about Behaviour Support, or want to learn more about how we can help, we’d love to chat.

📩 Send us a DM, or reach out directly to our BSP Manager

Breaking News: Significant changes are coming to the NDIS. Here's what you need to know. 📢

The government has announced a major shift in how NDIS support is determined. Starting mid-2026, the reliance on costly reports from family doctors and allied health professionals will be replaced with a new, three-hour "disability needs assessment" interview.

The aim? To make the NDIS fairer and simpler for everyone. The government says this new assessment will:

* Reduce the financial burden of paying for expensive reports.
* Improve consistency across the scheme.
* Streamline the process for both participants and the NDIA.

This new system, based on the Australian-designed I-CAN tool, will focus on 12 areas of life and be conducted by a trained assessor.

While this change is designed to simplify the process, we know many of you will have questions and concerns, especially regarding the loss of personal reports. We are actively monitoring these developments and will keep you informed as more details become available.

What are your thoughts on this new approach?

We'd love to hear from you in the comments below.

Stay tuned for more updates from Delight Disability Services. We're here to help you navigate these changes.

📢 Attention NDIS Participants, Families, and Support Workers! 📢

The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is making an important change to how you access the NDIS provider portal. To enhance security and streamline the process, the login system is transitioning from PRODA (Provider Digital Access) to RAM (Relationship Authorisation Manager).

What this means for you:

A new way to log in: Providers and their employees will now use RAM to access the NDIS portal. This change is mandatory and is part of a broader move to strengthen the NDIS system.

No more PRODA for NDIS: While your PRODA account may still be used for other government services, it will no longer grant you access to the NDIS portal.

Simplified access with RAM: RAM, used in conjunction with myID, offers a more secure and efficient way to manage your access and permissions on behalf of a business.

At Delight Disability Services, we understand that these changes can sometimes be confusing. We are here to help you navigate this transition smoothly and ensure you maintain uninterrupted access to the services you need.

If you have any questions or need assistance with the new RAM system, please don't hesitate to reach out. We are committed to making your NDIS journey as straightforward and stress-free as possible.
