Hartley Hall Markets

Hartley Hall Markets One of Australia’s largest home-made, homegrown markets in the historical town of Hall.

The Hartley Hall Markets is now one of Australia’s largest homemade and homegrown goods markets. The markets have a rural theme and are held at the picturesque Hall Village Showground, just 10 kilometers north of Canberra. The markets have grown dramatically since 1987 with just 36 stalls and a 20-cent entry fee with some of the original stallholders still going strong. Since the first gathering many thousands of people have made visiting the Hartley Hall Markets a family tradition. Friendly atmosphere and great bargains to be found, the Hartley Hall Markets offer the best of fresh produce, baked goods, plants, furniture, clothing, pottery, jewellery, children’s toys, crafts, unique gifts, and much more. Barbeques, canteens, live music and other entertainment makes each visit a fun, family day out. Entry is by a gold coin donation helping fund Hartley Lifecare’s disability services. The Hartley Hall Markets are held from 10am to 3pm on the first Sunday of every month except January.

This Sunday at Hartley Hall Markets, we have something special.

Seven year old Roman is setting up his very own Pokémon stall.

He has been busy sorting, organising and preparing his collection and he is bringing plenty to choose from, including rare cards and booster packs.

If you have a Pokémon fan at home, this is one stall you will not want to miss.

Come along, say hello to Roman and support a young entrepreneur giving it a go.

We’re looking forward to welcoming Hall Vet Surgery to Hartley Hall Markets this Sunday.

Some of their vets and nurses will be at their stall for the day, ready to chat about caring for your pets and answer your questions.

There will be plenty of freebies, beautiful hampers to win, and even the chance to win a year of vet care.

If you’re a pet owner, make sure you stop by and say hello.

See you at the Markets.

Hartley is proud to be taking part in this year's Canberra Day Appeal, running now until Canberra Day (9 March).

Let's turn Canberra Day into a time when we all give back. Your support helps us raise vital funds for people with disability in Canberra.

With matched funding, every $1 donated becomes $2 for the first $2,500 (so $2.5k turns into $5k!).

Sadly, this month’s Hartley Hall Markets on Sunday 1 February are cancelled due to the forecast of extreme heat and morning showers.

With temperatures expected to be high and wet conditions in the morning, the decision has been made to prioritise the safety, comfort, and wellbeing of our stallholders, volunteers, performers, and visitors.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back in March.

Congratulations Tony Morris OAM

Hartley is delighted to congratulate Tony Morris on being awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia for service to the Canberra community.

Tony and his wife Margaret have been part of the fabric of the Hartley Hall Markets and volunteering since the very beginning in 1987. For nearly four decades, they have given their time, energy, and care to make the markets what they are today. Steady, generous, and always ready to help, Tony is the kind of person every community hopes to have quietly working behind the scenes. Tony's volunteering through Hartley has made it possible for people with disability to live their best lives. This honour is richly deserved.

On behalf of everyone at Hartley, congratulations Tony, and thank you to both you and Margaret for everything you have given to our community.
