Participants are welcome to enjoy the show as part of a group experience or opt for tailored 1:1 support. For those wishing to extend their visit beyond 1:00 PM, flexible arrangements can be discussed individually.

💬 A Little About Me — Laura
Hi, I’m Laura.

I’ve recently stepped into the role of Manager at Esteem Care Services, but my journey into this world started long before that. I’m a mum of three amazing neurodivergent boys, one of whom has a severe intellectual impairment and came into our family through foster care—he’s now our son, through and through.

My husband and I have fostered many children with special needs over the years, and my understanding of disability began even earlier. I grew up in the Netherlands, where it’s part of our culture to open our homes to those who need support. From a young age, we regularly welcomed people with disabilities into our family home as a way to give back to the community. It wasn’t a job—it was part of our everyday life. That spirit of giving has stayed with me ever since.

That upbringing shaped who I am: a deeply empathetic, kind, and loving person who wants to do meaningful work in the world. I don’t believe in ticking boxes or offering surface-level support. I believe in truly seeing people—listening, understanding, and doing everything I can to help make life easier for individuals and their families. following this i spend years working as a support worker and coordinator further increasing my skills.

I know how confusing, frustrating, and lonely it can be to navigate systems like the NDIS—I’ve been through it, not just professionally, but personally as a mum. That’s why I’m so passionate about what we do at Esteem Care. We don’t aim for “good enough”—we aim for right. We take the time to find the perfect match, not just someone to fill a shift.

I’ve also carefully selected our incredible team of support workers to reflect this same mindset—people who care deeply, who show up with empathy, and who genuinely want to make a difference. Whether you’re looking for support services or simply someone to guide you through the NDIS maze, we’re here for you. Even if it’s just for a conversation—you’re never alone.

Esteem Care isn’t just a job for me. It’s personal. It’s the care I wish I had. It’s the team I always hoped for. And now, it’s a place I’m proud to call home—not just as a manager, but as a mum, a carer, and a human.

• Lead group sessions alongside other support workers, focusing on life and social skills development for individuals, particularly those with autism or neurodivergence.

About You
We are looking for a passionate professional with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
• Counselling, Psychology, Social Work – Registered professionals with experience supporting individuals through personal and emotional challenges.
• Autism Specialisation – Professionals with expertise in autism support, behavioural strategies, and neurodiversity-inclusive approaches.
• Allied Health – Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, or similar professionals eager to provide direct support and skill-building opportunities.

Raven and Tahvy from Esteem Care recently attended the North Queensland ADHD Conference 2025 at the Pullman Casino on Saturday, 29th March—and what an incredible event it was!

From thought-provoking discussions to impactful insights, the conference was an inspiring gathering of experts, advocates, and community members passionate about ADHD. We’re so proud to have been part of this important event, contributing to the conversation and expanding our understanding of how to better support those with ADHD.

Happy St. Patrick's Day. From all of us at Esteem Care Services, we hope you're having an amazing day. Check out this simple and healthy recipe for a St. Patrick's Day healthy smoothie

St. Patrick's Day Green Smoothie
Want to join the green smoothie revolution? This fuit-and-veg-full recipe is the best thing to get you going in the morning.
Ingredients
• 2 cups fresh spinach
• 2 cups almond milk, unsweetened
• 1 large apple (any variety) cored and chopped up
• 1 banana cut into small pieces
• ⅓ cup rolled oats
• 1 tablespoon coconut oil
• 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
*It's best to use frozen fruit to make your smoothie cold. Freeze it overnight for best results otherwise throw some ice into the blender to cool it down.

Method
1. Blend spinach and almond milk until smooth
2. Add remaining ingredients, and blend again.
3. Serve and enjoy!

We're Hiring! Support Coordinator (3-4 Days Per Week) Esteem Care Services Cairns!

Due to expansion, Esteem Care Services Cairns is looking for a passionate and experienced Support Coordinator to join our growing team on a part-time basis (3-4 days per week).

About Us
At Esteem Care Services, we are dedicated to providing individualised, high-quality support coordination to NDIS participants, ensuring they receive the best possible care and services. We take pride in empowering individuals, fostering independence, and delivering meaningful outcomes.

About the Role
As a Support Coordinator, you will:

Assist NDIS participants in understanding and implementing their NDIS plans
Connect participants with suitable service providers and community supports
Help build participants skills to increase their independence and confidence
Monitor progress, address challenges, and adjust supports as needed
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with NDIS requirements

What We're Looking For
Experience in NDIS Support Coordination (or a related field) preferred.
Strong knowledge of the NDIS framework and person-centred support
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team
A genuine passion for empowering people with disabilities

Requirements
Relevant qualifications in disability, social work, community services, or a related field
NDIS Worker Screening Check & Blue Card (or willingness to obtain)
Current drivers licence and reliable transport
