Medical Receptionist – Part Time
Hallam Medical Group is currently seeking a part time Medical Receptionist to work 2-3 days per week, mainly PM shifts. You will need to be flexible and required to fill in sometimes at short notice. Previous medical reception experience preferred but not essential.
Key responsibilities:
o Schedule appointments by phone & in person using Pracsoft computer software
o Patient billing
o Demonstrate an understanding of Medicare item billing
o Ability to work as an effective team member

Hallam Medical Group is a busy Bulk Billing general practice looking for a medical receptionist to join our bright, friendly and relaxed environment.
The position is part-time,12-15 hrs/week with additional hours required to cover staff leave. Successful candidate will be trained on the job to do the closing shifts (Thursday & Fridays) with the intention of working independently on those evening.

Job Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
• General reception duties
- Greeting patients
- Booking appointments for Practitioners and Allied Health
- Answering patient enquiries (phone and email)
• Billing to Medicare
• Billing to DVA
• Billing private (for those who don't hold a Medicare card)
• Liaise with Medical Practitioners, Allied Health & Nurses
• Scanning and faxing documents
• Maintain confidentiality at all times

Essential Criteria:
• Have worked in a General Practice before
• 1 year minimum experience in medical receptionist role
• Knowledge of Pracsoft & Medical Director (preferred)
• Microsoft Outlook knowledge
• Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people
• Excellent ability to multi-task
• Be able to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
• Availability for afternoon and evening shifts up to 8:00pm
