A big year, in an inward way. I’d never felt a fear as I did just before we signed the contract to buy 13 Spring Road Highett, yet I’d never felt an ease and knowingness that came immediately after the fact. Completed yoga teacher training, in time to birth my third baby, . I turned 40. My first born turned 10, and we went to our first concert together. 15 years married to my one and only, who quickly became my colleague (and yeah, we’re still married). Many cooking classes in my home, women’s circles (with those cookies IYKYK), and community meditations. And of course, the most honourable role of all, being a bearer of the Shankaracharya tradition…teaching Vedic Meditation to allow others to begin the reintroduction process back to one Self.

*Life update incoming*

The real lessons arrive through lived experience — often in ways that bring us to our knees. The past few weeks have been exactly that for me.

A herniated disc at L4/L5 (a nice little slice of me shows this o. the 2nd last slide) has brought intense, humbling pain and an invitation to turn inward. It’s been labour-like at times — everything falling away but presence.

After months of birthing , this feels like the postpartum I didn’t anticipate. A call to soften, to let go of control, to trust the village, and to receive support with an open heart.

Recovery will be slow. And still, I trust this initiation is shaping me in ways I’ll one day be grateful for.

Because an arrow can only be released by first being pulled back 🏹

10 years of daily meditation, not a day missed! Could never have imagined what the profound practice of Vedic Meditation would reveal to me. Yet here I am, now with the immense priviledge of being a conduit of the Veda’s for others to experience their most expansive, unbounded, limitless Self. In a world that very easily makes you think you need more, I’m so damn grateful I know I’ve got everything right here. It really is true, that the universe responds to that which you continually, with devotion, show up again, and again, and again, for. And when that is you, well life becomes something pretty damn special.
