Where memories are made.

The best celebrations are the ones where every child feels welcome, included, and part of the fun.

Where inclusion is cool.

Inclusion isn’t just something we talk about.
It’s something we create.

We’ve been building something behind the scenes… and we can’t wait to share it with you.

At The Place, we believe kids deserve spaces where they can play, explore, and celebrate in their own way.

The women of The Place.

A team of clinicians, educators and advocates working every day to support people, families and each other.

Strong women doing meaningful work in our community.

Because girls can do anything. 💜

Happy International Women’s Day

This little girl always believed girls could do anything.

She asked questions.
She pushed back.
She didn’t accept “that’s just the way it’s done.”

Looking back, my PDA traits probably helped with that.
Because women are often told — directly or indirectly —
not to be too loud,
not to push too hard,
not to question things,
not to take up too much space.

We’re told not to.
So we do it anyway.

We start the business.
We speak up.
We advocate for our kids.
We challenge systems that don’t work.
We build something different.

I feel incredibly lucky to now be surrounded by strong, capable women every day through The Place — clinicians, educators, mothers, carers, leaders and advocates doing powerful work for children and families.

And I’m grateful for the peers, partners and allies who stand beside women and support that work.

Today I’m celebrating the women around me, and the girls growing up in our community.

Let’s keep making the path for them.

Because girls can do anything. 💜Lara

🎙️Real stories, real conversations, and a deck full of good blokes — Blokes & BBQ Night delivered.🔥

Friday night was something special.

A huge thank you to everyone who braved the fog and joined us — we were warm, toasty on the deck, sharing good food, real conversations, and genuine connection.

A special shout out to our amazing Speechie Nathan, who delivered an incredibly moving and honest presentation, sharing his own journey of hope, grief, growth, and navigating life alongside his beautiful neurodivergent child. His openness created a space where vulnerability felt safe, conversations felt real, and everyone walked away feeling a little less alone.

This is exactly why we created these nights — to build community, reduce isolation, and remind dads and male caregivers that support matters too.

✨ And this is just the beginning…

We’re excited to officially launch The Place Blokes Space — our new Facebook community for dads and male caregivers. A space to:
✔️ Connect with other blokes who “get it”
✔️ Share experiences and practical strategies
✔️ Access support and upcoming events
✔️ Be part of a supportive, judgement-free community

If you came along last night — thank you.
If you couldn’t make it — we’d still love you in the group.

👉 Join yourself or tag/sign your partner/friend/neighbour/cousin/dad up and help us grow a strong, supportive community for local blokes - https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1CSrzWnPnF/?mibextid=wwXIfr
