Our speechies work with people of all ages to support communication in all its forms — speech sounds, language development, AAC, literacy, social communication, stuttering, mealtime skills and swallowing.

Using neuro-affirming, play-based approaches, our goal is always the same — connection, confidence, and communication that feels authentic.

This is OT in Action — and this is our team. 💛

Every day, our Occupational Therapists at The Place show up with compassion, creativity, and courage. They see potential where others see barriers. They turn play into progress, challenges into opportunities, and therapy into moments of joy.

Our OTs don’t just support skills — they build confidence, connection, and possibility.
They are problem-solvers, advocates, cheerleaders, and quiet changemakers who walk beside children, teens, and families as they discover their strengths and learn to thrive.

At The Place, OT looks like movement, laughter, co-regulation, and gentle persistence. It looks like messy play, first bike rides, brave conversations, and hard-won milestones. It’s the work you don’t always see — but the impact you always feel.

So this week, as we celebrate OT Week 2025, we’re celebrating our incredible OT team — Jasmine, Steph, Lara, Judy, and every member of The Place Village who brings heart, skill, and purpose to every single day.

We’re Turning ONE! 🏡

One year ago, we opened the doors to The Place with one simple intention — to create something real.
A space that feels welcoming and human, where families are understood, supported, and part of a community that truly cares. 🧡

Since then, our village has grown — full of incredible families, referrers, partners, and the most wonderful team of humans who pour their hearts into making The Place what it is every single day.

We are so proud of the carefully curated team we’ve built — every person is here not just for their skills, but for their heart, their values, and the way they show up for our families every single day. 🔆

🌻 A familiar face with a brand-new adventure! 🌻It’s been a busy day of intros at The Place but we promise, this next one is special…

Many of you already know this incredible lady — Judy — who has taught countless little humans across our community as a much-loved local kindy teacher for decades! 💛

Always the learner and forever full of heart, Judy is now almost finished her Occupational Therapy degree — and we couldn’t be luckier to have her joining our team!

For now, she’s helping us out with Allied Health Assistant (AHA) support and some group work until December, before returning next year as a fully-fledged OT (and we can’t wait 🥹).

We’re already taking referrals for the new year, and if you’d love some AHA support from Judy in the meantime, we can help with that too.

So many families already have beautiful memories of Judy’s calm, caring way — and now those same steady hands and warm heart will be helping even more children grow, learn, and thrive in our little village. 💛

We’re so lucky to welcome Francesca, Speech Pathologist, to the team! 💬✨ Yes, that’s right - ANOTHER amazing Speechie to join our team 🤗

Francesca brings a gentle, play-based approach to helping children find their voice — supporting speech sounds, social communication, language development, and early literacy.

She believes therapy should always feel safe, affirming, and fun, meeting each child exactly where they are (with plenty of smiles along the way!).

💛 We’re so lucky to have her as part of our growing speech team — helping even more families across Toowoomba and the Darling Downs find confidence in communication.

👋 Welcome Nathan — Speech Pathologist 💬

We’re so excited to welcome Nathan to The Place village! 🏡✨

Before becoming a Speech Pathologist, Nathan spent many years as a teacher and school principal, working alongside children, families, and educators to help kids thrive in both learning and life.

He’s also a proud dad of a three girls, which gives him a deep understanding of the challenges and strengths that come with diverse communication styles.

Nathan brings warmth, patience, and a truly neuroaffirming approach — helping kids feel confident in finding their voice, whether that’s through conversation, play, or just connecting over shared interests. 💛

We’re so lucky to have him as part of our growing speech team, supporting children and families across Toowoomba and the Darling Downs.
