Hoof issues???? Worth a read
In Carson Valley, there’s a quiet kind of joy we feel almost every day. Many volunteers and locals head into the Pine Nut Mountains and the open range of Fish Springs. Some go to enjoy seeing the wild horses, do health and wellness checks and others to provide birth control. The wild horses here have brought our community together, advocates, volunteers, and fans alike forming one big family. United in a cause.
These wild horses aren’t just part of the scenery; they’re part of the heart of our community. They remind us to slow down, look up from our busy lives, and connect with our history and something bigger than ourselves.
Visitors come from all over the world to see them. They arrive with cameras and curiosity, and leave with something much deeper, a sense of wonder, happiness, and gratitude. You can see it in their faces when they first spot a band, that childlike smile that says this moment matters. Especially when they’ve read our stories and know each horse by name, it’s like meeting celebrities from a favorite show.
Locals see them as familiar, treasured neighbors. For visitors, it’s an unforgettable moment. For all of us, they bring peace, beauty, and a shared pride in Nevada and in the Carson Valley.
Joy doesn’t always arrive with fanfare. Sometimes it grazes quietly on Rendezvous Hill or splashes in Zorro’s Pond, reminding us how lucky we are and how much we hope to keep protecting the wild horses of the Pine Nut Mountains.
Please share our stories and support our cause.
