Inspired by the Felt Safety webinar by Robyn Gobbel 💛

The start of the school term has not been without a few stumbles — and that’s really normal. Even when kids are excited to be back, transitions ask a lot of their nervous systems, and we often see this in our family systems…

When things feel harder, it’s always good to revisit the basics.

These small, everyday supports can add a few extra droplets of safety while kids settle back in. Nothing fancy, nothing perfect — just gentle ways to support growing nervous systems.

🐻 Info Bear wonders: What’s one small thing that might help your child while we settle into the term?

Hello! I’ve been back in the play room after the break, easing into the year gently for the past couple weeks and social media on the back of my mind 😅 Some rest, some clouds and fog, getting back into it, a light being switched on… All the things!

With the school term coming up and goodbye to the holidays, I wonder which one feels most how it’s been for you lately? All are valid 🌻🌻

Happy holidays!!! It’s been a busy end to the year over here, so socials have been a bit quiet as I find my bearings. As the year wraps up, I’m feeling grateful to have been part of so many journeys — walking alongside children, young people, and families through a big year. It’s been lovely to slow down and reflect on everything 2025 has held. I’m finishing the year with a full heart and lots of appreciation for the trust you place in Sunny Hearts.

Here’s to 2026 ✨

I’m excited for what’s ahead and very excited to rest too 😅

Wishing you a gentle and joyful Christmas 💛🌻 See everyone when I get back on the 5th!

This Children’s Week, we’re celebrating the theme “Everyone should know about children’s rights.”

One of my favourites — and the one I embody most — is the right to play. 🧸

In the playroom, every scoop of sand, every sound, and every quiet moment reminds me that play is a language of safety, expression, and connection.

When children are given the space to play freely, they’re also given the space to heal, to regulate, and to discover who they are.
That’s what children’s rights look like in action. 💛

🌸It’s World Mental Health Day 🌸

I’m late but I’m here! Thanks 😂

It seems to be puppy and dog galore in my orbit at the moment so it felt fitting to post this pic of Rosie — my rescue pup at the Carnival of Flowers in Toowoomba, rocking her “Give Me Space” leash.

Rosie’s leash is a gentle way of saying: “I need room, please be kind”. And that feels like mental health in a nutshell. Advocacy, awareness, and compassion — for ourselves and for others who might be carrying something unseen. Supporting those who are vulnerable, whether they’re people or pups, makes the world a little softer.

At the same time, it’s impossible to ignore that the world feels heavy right now — and that so many communities here and overseas don’t yet have the support services they need. Mental health is deeply important, but often under-resourced, and it’s a hard place to be when the world feels like too much.

To commemorate Mental Health Day, here are some numbers that might help (Ipswich & Australia-wide):
📞 Lifeline – 13 11 14
📞 Beyond Blue – 1300 22 4636
📞 Su***de Call Back Service – 1300 659 467
📞 Kids Helpline (ages 5–25) – 1800 55 1800
📞 13YARN (First Nations support) – 13 92 76
📞 DVConnect Womensline – 1800 811 811
📞 DVConnect Mensline – 1800 600 636
📞 Mental Health Acute Care Team Ipswich – 1300 642 255

You’re not alone. 💛🌻
