We encourage you to take this time to reflect on how you can contribute to this year's theme which is fostering disability inclusive societies for advancing social progress. How can you, your business or workplace be more inclusive of people with disability?

Today is World Mental Health Day. The overall objective is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilise efforts in support of mental health.

On an individual level, the things you can do are:
- Speak to your healthcare providers about gaps in the mental health system.
- Write to your local MP if you have ideas for mental health initiatives in your community.
- Educate yourself about ableism and harmful language/attitudes.
- Speak out when you hear ignorance or misinformation.
- Check in with your friends and ask if they are ok. Encourage them to seek help if you are concerned.

It's R U OK Day.

The R U OK campaign is about taking the time check in with friends, family or colleagues to make sure that they are ok. It suggests you use these 4 steps to check-in:
1. Ask R U OK?
- "How are you travelling" or " You don't seem yourself lately - want to talk about it?"

2. Listen
- "I'm here to listen if you want to talk more" or "Have you been feeling this way for a while"

3. Encourage Action
- "what do you think is the first step that might help you" or "Have you spoken to your doctor about this?"

4. Check-in
- " Just wanted to check-in and see how you're going" or "Have things improved for you since our last chat?"
