Want your children to grow into healthy Adults ? Then encourage them to participate in activities that promote physiological awareness. According to a study by Gordon-Larsen P (2014) "regular participation in physical activity ( PA) provides significant health benefits for young people such as obesity prevention & improved psychosocial wellbeing, furthermore, (PA) behaviours adopted during adolescence are more likely to be maintained during adulthood" underscoring the relevance of adequate participation during this stage of life. Flintoff & Scraton's (2001) findings support this view, they interviewed very active girls who described "having learnt new skills, increased self-esteem, improved fitness & developed new social networks as motivation to be physically active", contributing to the continuation of exercise into adulthood. Seems simple doesn't it ? Promote activity & Healthy Children become healthy adults. (Thanks to our young athletes Aurelia & Cella)
