Happy Friday Lamb Island Yoga, Fitness & Health A student asked me “What do you do during Savasana ? ” ”During savasana, I hold the space for you by maintaining a calm and supportive energy throughout the practice. I observe quietly, ensuring the energy continues to flow smoothly while you relax deeply. If you twitch or become restless, I gently keep you comfortable and grounded. My role is to guide you softly, helping you stay present and at ease in this restful state for the full 7 minutes, allowing your body and mind to fully absorb the benefits of your practice.

My love of yoga has not diminished in over 16 years of regular practice and teaching.

“Yoga has an extremely balancing effect on the nervous system through the use of deeper breathing. It is a very detoxifying practice through the twists and turns of the postures, helping to bring hydration and fresh blood supply to the organs and joints. The focus and concentration required in some of the postures keeps you very anchored in the moment and out of the distractions of the day, which helps to create a bit of space in the mind.”

I am 2 years in Reformer Pilates Instructor and graduate Teacher from 2 schools.

What are the key benefits of Reformer Pilates?
Beyond the physical and mental health benefits of working out, here’s are just some of the reasons it is an effective way to exercise:

Differences:

Mat Pilates uses a mat and body weight; Reformer Pilates uses a machine with springs for adjustable resistance.
Mat Pilates emphasizes controlled movements and breathing without external resistance.
Equipment-based Pilates can target muscles more intensely due to adjustable resistance.
