Practice Update:
We’ve now been open for 8 months and have recently welcomed a couple of new doctors to the clinic🫦
We are still accepting new patients and we try to keep a handful of book on the day appointments available for those urgent problems.

We are thrilled to introduce you to the newest GP to the team - Dr David Burton

David brings a rich background in medicine, having completed his studies at the University of Otago, New Zealand.
He takes pride in offering comprehensive care across a broad spectrum of health needs. He holds particular expertise in skin cancer detection, with a certificate in dermatoscopy – especially valuable given Tasmania's high UV exposure. His dedication to mental healthcare is demonstrated through his certificate in Primary Care Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, enabling him to provide high-quality support for patients managing anxiety and depression.

David is passionate about health equity and finds fulfillment in delivering compassionate, effective care that makes a tangible difference in his patients' lives. He values the daily variety of general practice and the meaningful connections he builds with patients. In his spare time, he loves going to gigs, have dinners with friends, trail running and bike-packing.
David will be joining us on the 3rd of November 2025 working Monday to Friday.

We are thrilled to introduce you to the newest GP to the team - Dr Kirsty O'Neill 🤩

Initially trained in the United Kingdom and have worked across Australia in both regional and city settings. With a broad international background and over 15 years of medical experience, Dr O'Neill brings a strong foundation in emergency, paediatrics, anaesthetics, and rural health.

Her career has included service in West Africa as well as several years with the Australian Army!

She is passionate about supporting rural communities and is committed to long-term practice in Tasmania. Dr O'Neill is currently in the process of completing her Fellowship with the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine. Outside of medicine, she enjoys hiking and bush care 🌿

Currently Dr O'Neill is working Thursdays and Fridays at Lauderdale Medical Centre.

🌿 Medical Receptionist – Lauderdale Medical Centre 🌿

We’re looking for a friendly and reliable Medical Receptionist to join our supportive team for 2 days per week. There is also the opportunity to take on additional days as the practice grows, as well as covering staff sick leave and annual leave.

🩺 Experience in medical reception is preferred – but if you’re a quick learner with a great attitude, we’d love to hear from you
💻 Must be professional, well-presented, and confident using computers
🤝 Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential

Dr Marita Jones is now offering IUD (commonly known as a Mirena) insertion and removal at Lauderdale Medical Centre.

Before booking your procedure, an initial 30-minute assessment is required. This can also be booked online via HotDoc or alternatively, by speaking to our friendly reception team.
