What a powerful morning with best-selling author Jodi Wilson 🙌
Fresh from her national book launch of A Brain That Breathes, our perinatal network was lucky enough to share an intimate morning tea where Jodi guided us through the beautiful blend of research, lived experience, and practical tools from her book ✨ all explored through a perinatal lens.
There was so much wisdom in the room.
Save this post for later, especially for those moments when life feels like a lot. Here are a few gentle, practical tools Jodi shared to support you (and the families you work with):
💛Try “legs up the wall” — a simple, restorative pose
💛Soft fascination ☁️ sip a cup of tea and watch the trees, the birds, the light.
💛Go for a walk without earphones 😉 let your brain breathe
💛Find some green space, even with a little one in tow 🌿 the benefits for you and your baby can be profound.
💛Slow down with deep breaths and intentional sighs
Jodi shared that mothering today is the hardest it’s ever been 😫 You are doing a wonderful job mama!
If you swipe to the last slide, you’ll see a little gift: a short breathing exercise Jodi guided us through (yes, including the audible sigh I enthusiastically requested multiple times 😅🙊).
A beautiful reminder that even in a busy, noisy café, we can find moments to soften, pause, and melt into our chair 🫠
One concept that really stayed with me was “infobesity” 🤔 the overload of constant information we’re consuming daily. So here’s your gentle nudge…
Put your phone down. Make a cup of tea. Look out the window. Take a deep breath… and maybe even an audible sigh 😮💨🥰
Thank you, Jodi your work is so needed, and so deeply felt 🫶
